Over my years in ministry one of the most frustrating things that I have had to deal with has been people who come to church to pastor the church from the pews. Yes I said it, there are people who come into church and don't want the responsibilities but do want to rule the show. It's sad because they don't realize that the one who rules the show is Jesus not man. With that said the sad part beyond that is that the time invested into church for them becomes a time where they are simply being analytical and combative. Church is a place of spiritual rest not spiritual contention! If we are walking into church with our microscope and judge robe on, then we should really reconsider what we are doing. I'm not saying don't go to church but I am saying leave all the junk at the door and come in with an open heart to be led by God. When we allow God to lead us we begin to realize His direction is the best and only direction, He won't steer us wrong nor leave us on our own. To do anything else but draw close to Him to learn is simply foolish....

A través de los años en el ministerio una de las cosas más frustrantes con las que he tenido que lidiar es cuando las personas llegan a la iglesia y quieren tomar el rol de pastor desde su silla. Listo ya lo dije.sí es cierto, hay muchas personas que llegan a la iglesia y quieren ser los que dan las ordenes y mandan a todos los demás pero por ningún motivo quieren las responsabilidades que vienen con este llamado. Me da mucha tristeza, por que estos individuos no se dan cuenta que el que verdaderamente manda y es el jefe de todos es Jesús y no el hombre. Lo más triste aun es que todo el tiempo que invierten en la iglesia es solo para dedicarse a ser analíticos de todo y hasta peleones por lo que nos les gusta. ¡La iglesia es un lugar donde se debe encontrar un descanso espiritual no una constante controversia espiritual! Si cuando entramos a la iglesia entramos con nuestra bata de juez y con un microscopio para juzgar todo lo que vemos, es mejor que reconsideremos la verdadera razón por la que vamos a la iglesia. No lo tomen a mal pensando que les estoy diciendo que no vengan a la iglesia; lo que trato de recalcar hoy es que debemos dejar todos nuestros cachivaches (cosas que no nos sirven) en la puerta y entrar con un corazón abierto dispuestos a recibir de Dios. Cuando verdaderamente le permitimos a Dios que dirija nuestra vida, nos damos cuenta que seguir su dirección es lo mejor para nosotros y es la única dirección que debiéramos tomar. El nunca nos va a dirigir a un lugar erróneo ni tampoco nos va a dejar solos. El irnos tras otras cosas en vez de acercarnos a El buscando aprender más de El es simplemente una insensatez.

Wouldn't it be awesome to be able to physically see God's face? Wouldn't it be awesome to be able to touch Him and embrace His glory in real life? I'm sure all of us agree that there would be no better moment than the one prior described but in the reality of things we realize that this scenario wouldn't allow faith to develop. All of us have faith, whether we use that faith to believe in God or to try to believe that God doesn't exist, in whichever circumstance faith is present. How can I say that? We may not see His face but we see evidence of His existence all around us, this evidence will either be embraced by the believer or attempted to be put down by the non-believer. This evidence draws us near to Him, if we are not drawing near to Him seeing all the things He has done then we are trying to force ourselves to negate His actions. If we stop and think for a moment it is scary how many of us will attempt to try to disprove Gods existence when we should actually be trying to believe in the things we are trying to disprove, make sense? How do we believe???? Simple: get to the water's edge and listen to Him speak. "What is the water's edge"; you may ask? It's the church or as the bible describes it's the reunion of the saints, you don't believe me? Read the verse below and see how Jesus was all about His church, what's the purpose of this devotional today? To get you back to church, don't expect to find an apple on a corn stalk and don't expect to find a tomato in a lettuce field. We have to seek His presence where He has designated it to be not where we want it to be.

¡Que Dios Te Bendiga!¿No les parecería maravilloso el poder ver a Dios cara a cara? ¿No seria maravilloso el poder tocar su rostro y abrazarlo en toda su Gloria en la vida real? Estoy seguro de que todos podemos estar de acuerdo que lo que acabo de describir, se convertiría en la experiencia más hermosa de toda nuestra vida sí sucediera lo mencionado; pero la realidad es, que si esto sucediera exactamente de esta manera, lo más probable es que no habría espacio para que nuestra fe creciera. Todos tenemos fe, sea que la usemos para creer en Dios o para tratar de convencernos que El no existe; sea como sea, la fe existe dentro de nosotros. ¿Cómo es que les puedo asegurar esto? Puede ser que aun no podamos ver su rostro, pero vemos las evidencias de su existencia a todo nuestro alrededor. Los creyentes aceptan las evidencias mientras que muchos, no-creyentes tratan de negarlas o comprobar que no existen. Las evidencias son las que nos acercan más a El; si no nos estamos acercando más y más a El con todas las cosas que El ya ha hecho y sigue haciendo, es como si estuviéramos negando su existencia. Si nos detenemos por un momento y analizamos bien, nos podríamos dar cuenta que desafortunadamente, muchos de nosotros a veces tratamos de refutar la existencia de Dios cuando deberíamos estar creyendo con toda certeza las cosas que tratamos de contradecir, ¿tiene esto algún sentido? ¿Cómo hacemos entonces para verdaderamente creer? Es muy simple: acércate a la orilla del mar y escúchalo hablar. ¿A qué me refiero cuando digo: "la orilla del mar"? La orilla del mar significa la iglesia, o como la Biblia lo dice mejor: "la reunión de los santos". ¿Te cuesta trabajo creerme? Lee el versículo de abajo y te darás cuenta como Jesús se preocupaba por su iglesia. ¿Por qué les comparto este devocional hoy? ¡Para que regreses a casa (la iglesia)! No esperes encontrar una manzana en medio de un maizal (granja de maíz), ni tampoco esperes encontrar tomates donde solo se siembra lechuga. Tenemos que buscar la presencia de Dios en el lugar que El ha designado y no donde nosotros queremos encontrarla.

Faith is a very hard thing for humans to get their arms around. In the verse from today we see a woman that observes the physical state of Jesus and assumes that based on what she is able to see, He is able to provide. One of the biggest downfalls of humans today is that we assume that God is limited to the things we can see with our eyes when He isn't at all. The reason many consider God Super-natural is because He exceeds the natural! Why am I saying all of this today? We have to begin to realize that God begins when we finish. He doesn't work in the realm that we are familiar with nor is limited to the things we are, HE is God! Do you need living water but find yourself in a dry place in life? If so then Jesus is the way to go. He is the only one that can supply your super natural requirements.

A través del tiempo, se ha comprobado, que es muy complejo para el ser humano el comprender y aplicar el verdadero significado de la "Fe". En el versículo de hoy vemos a una mujer que al mirar a Jesús en su estado físico (lo que ella podia ver con sus ojos), asumió que lo que el le podía brindar era limitado; ella miró solo lo que estaba al alcance de su vista humana y no a lo que El verdaderamente le podía brindar. Uno de los peores errores que podemos cometer como humanos, es asumir que Dios se limita a las mismas cosas que nosotros como humanos podemos ver; pero la realidad es que esto no es cierto. La razón por la que muchos sí consideran a Dios como un Dios Súper Natural, es por que ¡el sobrepasa todo lo natural! ¿Por qué les menciono todo esto en este día? Necesitamos comenzar a entender que Dios comienza donde nosotros terminamos. El no trabaja en el ámbito o esfera en la que nos movemos los humanos (aunque esta sea la que es familiar para nosotros). El no esta limitado a las cosas como nosotros sí estamos, ¡EL ES DIOS! ¿Te encuentras en sequedad y te gustaría tener acceso al agua viva? Si tu respuesta es sí, entonces recuerda que Jesús es el único camino. El es el único que puede suplir todos nuestros requisitos sobrenaturales.

We all go through periods in life when we are tired and need a break. Its normal for a human to need rest but how much rest is too much rest? Many believe that I harp on the lazy and may be a bit hard on the slothful and I tend to agree with them. Laziness is not a characteristic it's a CURSE! It's the biggest curse that the enemy uses on the children of God to maintain them in church but not in use. In other words we receive and grow heavy but never give off fruit. I know I'm on a roll today but we have to keep in motion and shifting because if we don't we will grow stagnant like the dead sea. Anyone who has been there will tell you that the water stinks and there is no movement, this is similar to the mindset of the lazy. The moral of the devotional today is simple: lets devote ourselves to getting in motion!

Todos pasamos por etapas en la vida donde nos sentimos cansados y necesitamos tomarnos un tiempo de descanso. Como humanos, es normal necesitar un tiempo de descanso, pero mi pregunta es: ¿cuánto tiempo de descanso es demasiado descanso? Muchos de ustedes deben pensar que hecho mucha cantaleta sobre los perezosos y que puedo llegar a ser un poco rudo cuando se trata de la pereza y flojera y la verdad es, que tienen toda la razón. La pereza no es una característica de nuestra personalidad, ¡es una MALDICION! La pereza es la maldición que el enemigo más usa con los hijos de Dios para mantenerlos dentro de una iglesia pero mantenerlos quietos; sin uso. En otras palabras, estamos en la iglesia, recibimos palabra tras palabra de Dios pero no damos fruto alguno. Se que deben estar pensando que estoy muy directo hoy y que voy con impulso pero es que tenemos que mantenernos en movimiento por que si no lo hacemos, nos quedamos estancados como el mar muerto. Los que han podido viajar a conocer el mar muerto te podrán decir que tiene mal olor y que no tiene movimiento alguno; esto es lo que sucede cuando tenemos una mentalidad perezosa. La moraleja de este devocional es sencilla: ¡dediquémonos a mantenernos en constante movimiento!

Can you imagine being in the presence of God and feeling Him heal you and restore you but instead of you remaining there He asks you to go and talk about Him where you are accustomed to being? In being real I would think it must feel a bit disheartening and painful because there is no greater place than His presence but what God needs us all to understand is that it's not always about us. When we are able to have these great experiences with God we must realize that our true duty at that point is to talk about it not just remain still. Too many of us today have taken this mentality of "Let someone else do it" because we don't feel capable of doing it ourselves whether because of guilt or low self-esteem. What we have to remember is that just like we didn't heal and change ourselves He also won't leave us to deal with testifying alone either. He is and will always be there for us, He seeks that today we all spend some time evaluating if we are doing our duty of spreading the great news He has given us to spread. What do we have to lose?

¿Te puedes imaginar el estar en la presencia de Dios sintiendo como te ministra, sintiendo como El vasanando tus heridas, como te restaura, pero en ves de permitirte quedarte en su presencia, El te ordena a regresar de donde viniste y hablar de todo lo que El ha hecho en ti? Siendo realista, pienso que tal vez me sentiría un poco desconcertado y triste por no poderme quedar en medio de su presencia, ya que no hay mejor lugar que ese, pero Dios quiere que entendamos, que no siempre se trata de cómo nos sentimos nosotros o lo que queremos para si mismos. Cuando tenemos el privilegio de tener esas hermosas experiencias con Dios, nuestro deber es compartir nuestra experiencia con otros y no quedarnos callados. Muchos de nosotros hoy en día, hemos tomado la mentalidad de dejar que otros hagan por nosotros lo que es nuestra responsabilidad hacer simplemente por que no nos sentimos capaces sea por culpabilidad o bajo autoestima. Lo que tenemos que recordar es que de la misma manera que El no nos abandonó cuando lo necesitábamos para cambiarnos o para sanarnos, El tampoco nos dejará cuando es el tiempo de testificar. El siempre ha estado y siempre estará a nuestro lado. Dios quiere que tomemos un tiempo para evaluar si en verdad estamos haciendo nuestra tarea de llevar las buenas nuevas a los demás como El nos ha mandado a hacer. ¿Qué tenemos que perder si lo hacemos?

Isn't it difficult to forgive someone when they harm us? I can tell you from personal experience as much of a pastor I am, when it comes to being hurt, I don't heal too fast. I know that may sound wrong to many of you but I'd rather sound wrong than lie to you. The healing process in all of us is very different, some heal quickly and others never let themselves heal. With all of this said it is very important to understand that our glory or power is centrally found in our ability to forgive and let go! Why? Scripture is clear, if we don't forgive we will not be forgiven..... I'm not sure about you but I need forgiveness and in this devotional today, I simply pray that God alleviate me and anyone else reading this that struggles with overlooking an offense. If we want to be viewed positively by God then we have to begin to allow change!

¿No les parece muy difícil perdonar a las personas cuando nos han hecho daño? Les puedo compartir de mi experiencia personal aún siendo pastor, confesándoles que me cuesta mucho trabajo superar una ofensa cuando alguien me lastima y por lo general, mi corazón se demora mucho en sanar. Se que muchos pueden estar pensando que estoy errado por sentirme así pero prefiero estar errado y decirles siempre la verdad a mentirles aparentado ser alguien que no soy. Cada persona tiene un proceso de sanidad diferente, hay unos que afortunadamente sanan rápido mientras que otros no dejan que sus heridas sanen completamente. Con todo esto en mente tenemos que recordarnos constantemente, que nuestro verdadero poder esta en nuestra habilidad de perdonar y olvidar con facilidad. Se deben estar preguntado, ¿por qué? La Palabra es muy clara, sí no aprendemos a perdonar, no seremos perdonados.no puedo hablar por ti pero lo que sí se, es que yo necesito ser perdonado y por medio de este devocional hoy, le ruego al Señor que nos ayude y nos enseñe a perdonar y a olvidar rápidamente cuando alguien nos ofende. ¡Si queremos que Dios nos comience a ver como personas obedientes, entonces, tenemos que permitir que El nos cambie!

One of the most difficult things to deal with in life has to be people who aren't willing to be dealt with. You know what I'm talking about: that person that's always right, always justified, always righteous (in their own opinion) and finds fault in everything and everyone else. I'm sure you know a bunch! We all do and some of us play both parts the annoying person and the person who has to deal with annoying people. This is a very common trait that we see in society today, the driving force behind most debates and protest, though we have a right to our opinions, we have to be careful not to express it to anyone because we might offend them (do we really have a right?). As many of us practice this way of being in society many of us want to bring it in to the church, I'm not talking about giving the pastor a hard time (though many do) but rather we try to give God a hard time and try to explain to Him why He is wrong, late or otherwise "doesn't understand our situation". Sound familiar? We all have been there once or twice and if you are shaking your head saying "I haven't" you are probably going through it right now! The moral of the verse today is that when we go to church we have to do it with an open heart and not a full mouth. God is seeking people that are looking for change not people who are looking to change Him..

Creo que una de las cosas más difíciles que nos pasa como seres humanos, es cuando tenemos que relacionarnos con personas que en realidad no quieren nada con nosotros (personas difíciles de tratar). Estoy seguro que me entienden, me refiero a esas personas que siempre tienen la razón, las que se justifican por todo, las que consideran que siempre actúan justamente (por lo menos en su propia opinión), pero eso sí, ellos siempre encuentran con facilidad los defectos de los demás; siempre le ven el lado malo a las cosas y a las personas. ¡Estoy seguro que conoces a muchas personas como estas que describo! Todos las conocemos y la realidad es que muchos de nosotros podemos actuar ambas partes; a veces somos las personas fastidiosas y nos hacemos los difíciles y otras veces nos toca aguantarnos a los fastidiosos. Este es un rasgo muy común en nuestra sociedad hoy en día y tristemente, muchísimas veces ésta es la fuerza que impulsa a las personas a debatir y protestar. Aunque sí es cierto que tenemos todo el derecho a tener nuestra propia opinión, tenemos que tener mucho cuidado cuando expresamos nuestras opiniones porque podemos ofender a muchos (¿tenemos en realidad el derecho a nuestra propia opinión entonces?). Esta manera de actuar la cual usualmente lo hacemos fuera de la iglesia, tristemente esta infiltrándose dentro de la iglesia. No me estoy refiriendo a que me hagan pasar malos ratos a mí como pastor (aunque algunos sí lo hacen), más bien me refiero a que tratamos de hacer esto con Dios y queremos hacerle entender a Él, lo equivocado que supuestamente esta, le reclamamos por su tardanza en responder o por que simplemente no nos entiende supuestamente.¿será que esto te puede sonar un poco familiar? Todos hemos actuado así en algún momento y lo más seguro, es que lo hemos hecho más de una vez y si en este momento estas meneando tu cabeza diciendo "yo no", lo más posible es que estés actuando así con Dios en esta misma etapa de tu vida. Lo que el versículo de hoy nos enseña, es que cuando vayamos a la iglesia, tenemos que ir con un corazón abierto y no con una boca llena. Dios esta buscando a personas que desean cambiar, no ha personas que intentan cambiarlo a El.

As a parent I have had countless occasions where I've tried to convince my kids to heed to my warnings but, for one reason or another they don't seem to listen (Surprised?). Parents aren't trying to Lord over their children, we simply have learned through experience that certain actions have a predetermined consequence and we are very aware of the pain it will inflict on a loved one which we would prefer to avoid. The children don't seem to understand this because they have the "I Know it all" complex, do you know any like this? I know we get a chuckle out of this opening but the truth is that just as our children frustrate us by not listening we all do the same to God by disregarding His direction. I'm sure many are saying "I don't hear God", to that I say; it's not that we don't hear God, but instead like our children we choose to ignore Him. What a great parent He is, He allows us to learn our lesson so we don't just avoid an issue but can tell others of how to avoid it. The verse today talks about how it doesn't matter where you are in life, what position you may hold or what title you may have achieved. What matters is our ability to listen and heed to warnings, no matter how much we may know we don't know it all!

Como padre, en innumerables ocasiones he tratado de convencer a mis hijos que lo mejor para ellos es que presten mucho atención a mis advertencias y obedezcan, pero por una razón u otra terminan no escuchando (¿te sorprende esto?). No es que como padres tratamos de ser como dioses sobre nuestros hijos, sino más bien es que nuestras experiencias nos han enseñado, que ciertas acciones tienen con garantía sus consecuencias. Hemos experimentado el dolor que traen estas consecuencias y lo único que queremos es evitarles ese dolor a nuestros seres queridos. Los niños no entienden lo que trato de explicar en este día simplemente porque ellos tienen el complejo del "sábelo todo", ¿conoces a alguien que sea así? Se que a muchos nos puede causar gracia esto que les comento hoy, pero la realidad es que al igual que nuestros hijos nos frustran con su necedad, nosotros hacemos exactamente lo mismo con Dioscuando ignoramos su dirección. Ahora, muchos deben de estar pensando, "pero es que yo no escucho a Dios", a eso les puedo responder: "no es que Dios no nos hable, sino más bien es que nosotros al igual que nuestros hijos, escogemos ignorar su voz". Pero que Padre tan maravilloso que es Dios con nosotros, El permite que aprendamos nuestra lección no solo para nuestro bien, sino también para que después, podamos enseñarle a otros como evitar esos dolores de cabeza que trae la desobediencia. El versículo de hoy nos enseña que en realidad no importa nuestra edad, el titulo que tengamos, o cuales hayan sido nuestro logros; lo que verdaderamente importa es nuestra habilidad de escuchar las advertencias y obedecer.por mucho que pensemos que sabemos, ¡NO lo sabemos todo!

Time and time again in ministry I have had the displeasure of seeing a good Christian broken down and beat up by the things this life has thrown at them. People who have such a great potential and ability but for one reason or another they have fallen to the main plan of the enemy. Want to know what it is? Since the beginning with Adam and Eve we noticed the one thing the devil did to get people on his side, he simply separated them and spoke to them. He knows that there is power in numbers and as the word states "where there is two or three..." With this being so, through my years of ministry the biggest factor in seeing broken people has always been the same; people who have left the fellowship of the brethren. Don't misunderstand what I'm saying, the people in the church also have issues and at times we all feel broken but the fact that we remain connected allows us to stand up faster, stronger and with more zeal.
I'm sure many are thinking but many of my problems originate from the people within the church, to that I can simply say "Iron sharpens Iron". We are all a work in progress and to assume that we can put a multitude of imperfect people inside of a place and create perfection instantly is crazy! The key is that within our weakness He makes us strong. I encourage you today to reconnect to Him and the brethren, what is the worst thing that can happen? You feel better!

Desafortunadamente en este ministerio, he tenido que ver una y otra vez como un buen cristiano se estropea y se destroza con todas las cosas que esta vida nos manda a veces. Hay tantas personas con tanto potencial y con grandes habilidades pero por una u otra razón, han caído en la trampa donde el enemigo nos quiere mantener. ¿Quieren saber a que me refiero? Desde el principio podemos ver con el ejemplo de Adán y Eva como el enemigo le gusta separar a las personas para luego hablarles cuando están solos. El enemigo sabe que hay mucho poder en la unidad; por esa la Palabra nos dice: "donde hay dos o tres.". Con esto en mente, puedo decirles que a través de tantos años en el ministerio me he dado cuenta que el factor más grande por el cual las personas se quebrantan sigue siendo el mismo; por que dejan de compartir y relacionarse con sus hermanos en la fe. Por favor no mal interpreten lo que estoy diciendo, todos los miembros de la iglesia tienen sus situaciones y dificultades y en algún momento u otro todos nos hemos sentido destrozados, pero el hecho de mantenernos conectados es lo que nos ayuda a levantarnos y recuperarnos mas rápido, usualmente con más fuerza y más entusiasmo.
Se que muchos deben estar pensando, pero muchos de mis problemas se originan por las mismas personas en la iglesia. Para esto solo puedo responderles que recuerden que la Palabra también dice que "el hierro con hierro se afila". Todos somos un trabajo en proceso y el presumir que podemos poner una gran cantidad de personas imperfectas en un lugar y de inmediato adquirir perfección es simplemente ¡una locura! La clave esta en que en medio de nuestras debilidades podemos lograr ser fuertes. Los animó hoy a que se reconecten con Dios y con sus hermanos, ¿qué es lo peor que puede pasar? ¡El que te sientas mucho mejor!

Many of us at one point or another have to evaluate the presence of a person in our life. Some people will contribute positively into us and others will do the opposite. This evaluation process is a necessary exercise in our lives and something that we should practice frequently to eliminate the "Dead weight" in our life (there I said it J). I'm not trying to get you to become a lone ranger or an anti-social that's the reason we "Evaluate" the relationship to put a value and determine its positive aspects as well. The reason I'm going into all of this today is because we do need people in our lives but we have to choose the right people. It's similar to the people who remain in a bad (non-marital) relationship just for the sake of being with someone, that's nuts! Sometimes it's better to start all over than to build a house on a bad foundation. With all of that said ultimately we all need some good people around us, people who will help build us and strengthen us when we are weak. The verse today speaks clearly how we find a great strength in the unity that is found in being around another person in a time of hardship. If we analyize our life and notice we don't have any good friends then we need to find one.. It's better to have a friend..

Muchos de nosotros en un momento u otro llegamos al punto donde tenemos que evaluar la presencia de algunas personas en nuestra vida. Hay muchos que contribuyen cosas muy positivas a nuestra vida pero a la misma vez, hay otros que hacen totalmente lo opuesto. La evaluación de la que hablo hoy es un proceso muy necesario y debemos practicarlo con frecuencia. Por medio de este proceso es que logramos eliminar el "lastre" (peso que no nos deja avanzar) de nuestra vida (al fin lo dijeJ). Habiendo dicho esto, no quiero que lo mal interpreten pensando que estoy insinuando que debemos ser personas solitarias o antisociales; para esto es la "evaluación" de nuestras relaciones, para que les demos un valor y determinemos las cosas positivas que traen a nuestra vida. La razón principal por la que menciono esto hoy es por que sí nos necesitamos los unos a otros, pero tenemos que saber escoger a quien permitimos entrar a nuestras vidas. Es igual que aquellos individuos que se quedan en una relación dañina (relaciones fuera del matrimonio) por el simple temor de estar solos, ¡eso, verdaderamente es una locura! Muchas veces es mejor comenzar de nuevo a construir una casa con unos cimientos dañados. Con todo esto en mente, podemos decir que todos necesitamos unas buenas amistades. Personas que nos ayuden a madurar y a crecer, personas que nos den fuerzas cuando nos sentimos débiles. El versículo de hoy nos recuerda como la unidad hace la fuerza, especialmente en momentos difíciles. Si durante nuestra evaluación nos damos cuenta que no tenemos "buenos" amigos entonces tenemos que buscarlos.todo es mejor con un buen amigo.

What has God done in your life? What has He promised you to do for you? Have you and I come to a point in life where we have given up hope? I know too many of us are too religious to be honest for a moment and say "yes I think He may have forgotten about me" but I come today to truly remind us all that He hasn't!. I know for many of us things may be upside down and we may be in the middle of a night season but God wants you and I to know today that He is in control and His promise to us is intact. Though the promise may tarry.... He will never fail!

¿Qué ha hecho Dios en tu vida? ¿Qué ha prometido Dios que hará por ti? ¿Sera que tú y yo hemos llegado a un punto de nuestras vidas donde hemos perdido las esperanzas? Estoy consiente que muchos de nosotros en ocasiones, tendemos a ser un poco religiosos para ser honestos y decir: "sí, creo que Dios se ha olvidado de mi", pero en este día yo quiero recordarnos a todos que, ¡El no se ha olvidado de ninguno de nosotros! Se que para muchos de nosotros tal vez las cosas se encuentren boca arriba y puede ser que nos encontremos en medio de una temporada muy obscura, pero Dios quiere recordarnos en este día que El tiene todo bajo control y que todas sus promesas permanecen intactas. Aunque aparentemente las promesas se tarden. ¡Dios nunca nos fallara!

One of the hardest things I have dealt with (and still am dealing with) in life is one of the primary things a Christian should hold close to heart and that is simply being nice. It's my greatest weakness, I'm not saying that I'm too nice but quite the opposite. For a major part of my life I've been a Jerk! I know you may be thinking I'm nuts in being this open about myself but I've come to the realization that every time I sit down and write these devotionals they are my avenue of being able to uncover who I really am and not who I am constantly trying to portray or in process of becoming. It's not easy to expose yourself this way but I am of the belief that the more you put yourself out there the faster the transformation in your life. So what's the point of all of this today?
I'm trying to establish the fact that for the most part we all fall short when it comes to being "Nice", it's not that we want to be mean but many of us are so hurt, so angry, so disgusted with many situations in life that it spews from every pore of our body despite all of our best efforts to contain them. To make it even more interesting is the fact that when we are not nice for the most part its towards the people that love us the most! How does that make sense? I'll tell you this: I'm writing this all today because I need to change, I've come to a place in life where I just realize that I need to be a better person and if it takes biting my tongue every so often then I'm going to do it. I stand here today with a clear knowledge that I can't be the only one, I encourage you today to review your own life and ask yourself "Am I Nice?", if the answer is no, then today I ask you: Would you like to challenge yourself today as I am doing to make some radical changes in your life?" We have to remember God designed us to be Kind to others as He has been more than kind to us!

Unas de las cosas con la que todavía tengo dificultad a veces, es el simple hecho de ser una persona "amable y bondadosa". Aunque se la importancia de estas cualidades y también reconozco que son primordiales en cualquier relación, soy honesto al decirles que muchas veces es algo difícil para mi, pero se que Dios esta trabajando en mi corazón. La falta de amabilidad, ha sido la flaqueza más grande en mi carácter y tristemente puedo confesarles que por una gran parte de mi vida, he sido un patán insolente. Se que deben estar pensando que me he vuelto loco al compartirles esta parte tan delicada y vergonzosa de mi carácter pero he descubierto, que cuando escribo estos devocionales, Dios los usa para ayudarme a destapar mi verdadero "yo", mi verdadera condición. Me doy cuenta que al escribir estos mensajes, no tengo que pretender que ya he llegado a tener el cambio completo que Dios desea de mi. No es fácil exponernos ante los demás de la manera que lo estoy haciendo, pero sí estoy convencido, que entre más honestos podamos ser sobre nuestra condición actual, más rápido seremos transformados. Entonces, ¿cual es el punto de esta confesión hoy?
Estoy tratando de establecer el punto de que la mayoría de veces, si nos examinamos bien, podremos descubrir que no siempre somos tan "amables y bondadosos" como pensamos serlo. No es que queramos ser unos patanes de adrede, sino más bien estamos heridos, enojados, e indignados con muchas situaciones en nuestras vida y como un volcán en erupción, a veces no podemos evitar que salga lo que aún esta en nuestro corazón por cada poro de nuestro ser. Algo triste pero interesante es que por lo general, somos unos "patanes" con aquellas personas que más nos aman. ¿Cómo es que esto sucede? Les comparto algo en este día: escribo esto por que se que tengo que cambiar, he llegado a un punto en mi vida donde reconozco que tengo que ser una mejor persona y si parte del proceso es morderme la lengua, pues lo hare. Estoy consiente y seguro de que no soy el único es esta posición, te animó a que examines tu vida hoy y te preguntes, ¿soy amable y bondadoso? Si la respuesta es un no, entonces te pregunto, ¿te gustaría desafiarte a tu mismo al igual que yo lo estoy haciendo hoy para lograr unos cambios radicales en tu vida? ¡Recordemos que Dios nos diseño para ser individuos bondadosos y amables así como El ha sido eso y mucho más con nosotros!

Teachability is one of the most essential characteristics required in a human to succeed. We all start out something, with very little knowledge of that something. The level of success achieved has everything to do with the persons desire to learn more about that something and to run with perseverance. I'm sharing this today because the verse of the day could not be any clearer, a fool or unsuccessful person (don't misunderstand being a fool with going through a difficult time) is in that position because at one point or another they were unwilling to hear the voice of reason. I know in my personal life, there have been many times I have neglected to listen and I have seen the negative results of my foolishness! So why persist in it? Today is the day to begin to learn from experience, it's never too late to teach an old dog new tricks.

El poseer la característica de dejarnos enseñar, es una de las mejores cualidades que podemos tener como seres humanos. Nadie nace sabiéndolo todo y por lo general, cuando comenzamos a aprender algo, lo que sabemos del tema es muy poco o tal vez nada. El nivel de éxito que logremos tener, está basado en los deseos de la persona de aprender y en la perseverancia y diligencia que mantengamos durante el aprendizaje. Les comparto este mensaje en este día por que al leer el versículo de hoy, me doy cuenta que no podría ser más claro. El necio o persona que constantemente fracasa por lo general, se encuentra en esa situación de fracaso, por que no les gusta escuchar o hacer caso a los que le tratan de enseñar (no confundan el ser necio, al estar pasando por un momento difícil). Les puedo compartir que en mi vida personal, muchas veces he sido necio al no escuchar los consejos sabios y desafortunadamente, he tenido que experimentar los resultados de mi necedad. Con esto dicho, ¿por qué persistimos en seguir haciendo lo mismo? Hoy es el día perfecto para comenzar a aprender de las experiencias vividas; nunca es demasiado tarde para enseñarle a un perro viejo nuevos trucos.

I don't know about you but it's annoying to be around "woe is me" type people. We all have our issues (don't get me wrong) and there is a time for everything, but there are some people that do nothing but whine and complain. After a while it grows on the souls of all those around them and some will fold and become like them and others will run from them. Who are you? Are you the runner? The joiner? The Whiner? Either way today I encourage you to read the verse of the day and cheer up! As I type this it's important for you to know I ask myself the same questions because for a long time I also was the whiner...

Yo no se a ustedes, pero a mi me parece algo muy fastidioso estar con alguien que siempre tiene algo de que quejarse (personas que siempre están con aflicciones). No quiero que me mal entiendan, todos tenemos nuestros problemas y hay un tiempo para todo, pero desafortunadamente hay un grupo de personas que viven quejándose y lloriqueando todo el tiempo. Al rodearnos de estas personas, tristementellega el momento en que comenzamos a actuar como ellos. Pueden suceder dos cosas: o llega el momento en que sin darnos cuenta nos convertimos en personas quejonas también o, simplemente corremos lejos de aquellas personas que viven quejándose. ¿Cuál de las dos personas eres tú? ¿Eres del que se aleja de las personas quejonas, o te unes a ellos? Sea lo que sea tu respuesta, en este día te invito a que leas el versículo de abajo y te alegres. También quiero decirles que a medida que escribo este corto mensaje, me hago las mismas preguntas, ya que por mucho tiempo yo era el que mantenía quejándome.

Have you ever felt like God allowed someone to mistreat you and they simply got away with it? Did you ever want to call down just one lightning bolt from Heaven to resolve an issue with someone :) ? I'm sure like I, many of you have wanted to tell God or nudge God on the way He should deal with our oppressors, but the verse today reminds us that in His time He will address each individual as needed. What many of us don't understand is that God is always seeking to give grace to all of His creation and not just His children. Don't misunderstand what I'm saying by this, we all have to deal with consequences but God makes sure that those consequences are something we are built up by rather than being broken down by them. Maybe this isn't what you and I want to hear right now but then again that's why He is God and we are not.....

It's Monday morning and the alarm sounds, as we drag our body into the shower (hopefully :)) most of us keep asking the question "is it Friday yet?". Our outlook is on the end of the week because we realize we have a great deal of sweat, energy and of our soul to put out there this week. So why am I saying all of this today? It's simply to establish the fact that there are two motivating facts to working, they are: when iwill it be over (Friday) and when is it pay day! Everyone smiles to payday even if it is a small pay day and it's important to enjoy what we benefit from our labor.
The verse today talks about the fact that our labors reward is a gift that comes from GOD. It's not our strength that completes it, it's His Grace that allows us to push through the challenges and obstacles. Enjoy your gift today as you go to work and know He has strengthened you to do an awesome job at whatever it is you do....

As many of us are aware the baseball season is coming to an end and the football season is about to start. For those who are familiar with this transition we begin to almost smell it in the air, we see the change in weather, atmosphere and even food selection. We go from wanting to eat burgers and Hot dogs to desiring buffalo wings and blue cheese. With all that said there is a point here today: The verse we are going to review today is one which defines the above, not a specific subject but rather the broad spectrum of life. There will be good times and there will be bad, there will be fun times and there will be sad but ultimately everything occurs for a season. What season are you in right now? Are you happy there? If not there is a way to change the season you are in and it's called PRAYER. Let me be clear, it's not that a simple prayer will take you magically out of the situation you are in but Prayer will help you to realize that even the place you are in can provide a benefit. If we learn from each season we will grow and produce fruit. Is this your fruit bearing season?

Over the last couple of weeks God has really been impressing the need for change amongst His people and as a selected vessel of His, we each have to contribute in this push to change what He desires to change in us. Why? Well, Why not? Like in any career or job we all strive to be the best and the most successful because we want our time to hold its maximum value. As we do in the physical we must push to do it in the spiritual, so today I encourage you as I do myself to understand that Gods heart for us is of good and never of bad. Today I encourage you to step up your game because as we all do this we will begin to see the Hope of Glory we each seek. I know many may say "but I'm so far, I've made so many mistakes!" My answer to this is we all have and that fact can't erase the Fact that Jesus died on the cross to eliminate the wages of sin over our lives. Today I invite you to find hope in Him, He loves you so much He gave His Son for you....He has put the most valuable asset He had on the line for you and me....There must be a great value in us if He is willing to do this!
