Isn't interesting how our day is developed from our mood? If we wake up excited then automatically we begin a contagious happiness to all those around us. On the other hand if we start our morning on the "wrong side of the bed" all chaos breaks loose around us. So how do we change our patterns? It's simple; we have to make an effort to think before we speak, too many of us simply blurt the first thing that comes to mind when as Christians we are taught that we have to take all thoughts under submission to the Word. The key is being in the Word, the more Word we have the stronger we become. Want to start your day right? Wake up, thank God and read the Word, then we will be able to take on all of our challenges expecting different results!

¡Que Dios Te Bendiga!

¿No les parece interesante que nuestro día usualmente se torna de acuerdo al estado de ánimo con que nos levantemos? Si nos despertamos sintiéndonos felices y de buen ánimo, automáticamente contagiamos a los que están a nuestro alrededor de felicidad. Por lo contrario, si nos levantamos "con el pie izquierdo" como dicen algunos, lo más seguro es que encontremos caos en nuestro entorno. ¿Qué podemos hacer para cambiar este patrón? Es sencillo, tenemos que hacer un mayor esfuerzo de pensar bien las cosas antes de hablar. La mayoría de nosotros estamos acostumbrados a simplemente expresar la primera cosa que nos viene a la mente y la verdad es, que como cristianos se nos enseña que debemos sujetar todos nuestros pensamientos a la Palabra de Dios. La clave de nuestro éxito esta en vivir la Palabra, entre más nos alimentos de la Palabra de Dios, más fuerte seremos. ¿Quieres comenzar tu día de la mejor manera? Despierta, agradece a Dios y lee su Palabra. ¡Cuando hagamos esto, entonces podremos enfrentarnos a todos los desafíos del día sabiendo que tendremos mejores resultados!

I don't know about you but I can tell you there is a great feeling in the church right now. People are stepping up, people are taking charge and people are stepping into their God provided gifts! It's an awesome feeling to see this happening as a Pastor because it assures you that all the labors are not in vain. Why am I sharing this today? I come with a message to those that this movement hasn't affected yet and it is: it's not too late for you! I know we can come up with every excuse in the book of why we are not ready, we have too much going on, too many responsibilities, etc. the truth is this movement isn't something that was started by man but rather God, our only responsibility is to be still and watch Him glorify Himself. Now please don't take "being still" as a reason to do nothing but rather a reason to stop worrying and press into the God given gift you have been given!

¡Que Dios te Bendiga!

No se si te has dado cuenta, pero la iglesia esta viviendo un momento súper intenso e importante. Muchos de sus miembros han comenzado a tomar la responsabilidad que les corresponde y están mejorando y arreglando muchos aspectos de su vida para así, poder usar verdaderamente todos esos dones y talentos que el Señor les ha regalado. Como Pastor es maravilloso ver esto ya que te asegura que todo el esfuerzo y trabajo, no es en vano. ¿Por qué les comento esto en este día? Hablo de este tema hoy porque quiero llamar la atención de aquellos que aún no están experimentando este mover que esta sucediendo; quiero asegurarles que ¡no es demasiado tarde! Se que humanamente podemos encontrar miles de excusas para decir que no podemos tomar las responsabilidades que nos pertenecen. Podemos decir que tenemos demasiado trabajo, otras responsabilidades más importantes, etc., pero la verdad es que este mover del que estoy hablando hoy, no comenzó por mano de hombre sino por lo contrario, lo comenzó Dios. Nuestra responsabilidad primordial es, esperar en Dios y ver como El se glorifica. Ahora por favor no me mal entiendan al pensar que cuando digo "esperar", estoy diciendo que no hagamos nada, por lo contrario, ¡es tiempo de dejar las preocupaciones y excusas a un lado y comenzar a usar los regalos que Dios nos ha dado!

       For all of those New Yorkers reading this I'm sure the title of the message alone hits home. Over the last week or so we have been hit with a cold front that I think we all agree we can't wait for it to pass! But why you might ask? It's uncomfortable, it limits the things we can do with our down time, it literally hurts us to go outside of our home! Now knowing these reasons lets relate these to our spiritual walk with Christ. Though the spiritual "Cold" many of us may find ourselves in may not be visible by the eyes, the discomfort and stagnation we are in is the same. This state causes us to seek refuge but out of the path of God. It's so sneaky that when it happens we do not notice until we are so deep in it that turning back is a challenge.                                                 So what's the message for today? It's simply that we can't allow ourselves to get too cold, we have to push near to God in all moments of our life and by doing this we will never feel that discomfort that is created by the cold! It's never too late and never too far to come back to His house.....

                We made it through another week and we have an awesome meeting with God set up this weekend! I'm sure we all had our difficulties this week but despite the challenges we made it through. Maybe you are still struggling through it today, if so the message today is simple and that is "We are almost there!" the light is showing at the end of this tunnel and things are looking up! In this day I challenge you to smile even when you would like to scream, be nice even we you can justify snapping and love even when you are hated. Not easy? You are right but being a Christian is about being radically different and uncompromisingly persistent.

Dios le Bendiga!

Pudimos lograr una semana mas y tenemos una maravillosa reunion con Dios este fin de semana! Yo se que muchos hemos estado pasando por dificultades, pero pudimos superar muchas esta semana. Quizas hoy todavia estas luchando, pero el mensaje es simple "ya casi llegamos". Ya esamos viendo una luz al final del tunel y las situaciones que hemos estando pasando se estan viendo con mas esperanza! En este dia yo le reto que des una sonrisa aun cuando quieras gritar, demuestre misericordia aun cuando tienes razon por no hacerlo y ame aun cuando eres odiado. Sera facil cumplir eso? Claro que no! Pero el ser un Cristiano tenemos que demostrarnos ser personas radicalmente diferente y persistiendo incondicionalmente contra toda adversidad.

Let me start this morning by telling you not to lose hope! I know things may not be exactly the way you want them but they are (as much as I'm sure you don't want to hear this) exactly the way you need them. All things work for good as scripture states and this current dilemma you are going through is in the "all things" category as well. I won't take up too much more of your time today but I want to leave you with this last tidbit of information: Gods plan for us  has not changed so let's avoid changing it ourselves....

           I know we have all heard the verse listed below and I'm sure many of us quote it over and over to ourselves in times of difficulty, but have we made it our own? Do you own this verse? Do you apply this verse to you or just the patriarchs of scripture? Do you wake up in the morning and remind all those around you this verse is yours through your actions? This is the key, it's not only talking a good game it's all about looking at adversity and saying "I apply this verse right now on you!" and doing it. I encourage you today to show this verse to be true in your life by making an investment into your present and future, not monetarily but rather through commitment to God. Yes I said it, make a commitment to God today to serve Him despite your busy schedule, your sketchy past or present, the pressures of this world or any other excuse. Let's say no to the Excuses that maintain us in a spiritual mediocrity and let's say yes to being the benefactors of God exceeding abundantly mercies!

                What harm do we have in asking God for help? We either believe He will respond or we doubt it, if we doubt it what do we lose in asking? We fight our blessings too often and most of our blessings are held up because we won't open our mouths and simply ask God for help. Does that make sense? In this walk as a Christian, we must begin to open up with God, not just to be blessed but also to have a clear picture of why we are where we are. Do you enjoy walking in the dark? I don't, there is nothing better in life than the feeling of flicking on a light switch when you find yourself in the dark. It's as if a weight were lifted off your shoulders. So let's let Him light up our darkness and lets find the joy we seek in Him. Any Takers?

                So the devil tried to make you fall again! He tries every day to make you feel guilty for who you were and also tries to convince you that you have no value at all. So what! Why listen to the words of an imitation god that lost his battle thousands of years ago? Want to really stick it to the devil? Let him know today that all his attempts have only made you renew your faith and also your strength! How? Praise God with everything that is in you! Praise God whether things are good or bad, whether there is money or there isn't, whether you have a job or not, don't let your circumstances dictate your attitude but rather let your attitude dictate your circumstances. It's time to see the cup half full!

El enemigo a jurado nuevamente destruirte! Incluso el intenta diariamente condenarte por tu pasado y tambien te trata de convencer que no tienes valor. Que importa lo que dice ese dios falso, si el perdio la batalla hace mucho tiempo asi que no escuches lo que el te dice! Quieres de veras derrotar al enemigo? Dejele saber que todos sus intentos de hacerle caer solo le han fortalecido mas su fe y sus fuerzas! Como lo haras?   Alabe a su Dios con todo lo que tienes dentro de ti! Alabelo en lo bueno y en lo malo, con dinero o sin dinero, con trabajo o sin trabajo! No permita que su situation dicte su actitud sino mas bien deje que su actitud dicte su circumstancia. Empezemos mirando a lacopa como mitad llena y no mitad vacia!

                Have you ever gone through something really bad and after the problem passed you realized it made you stronger?  Have you ever told anyone about it afterwards? I'm sure you are saying "why share this kind of news?". Many are confused about what the "Good News "really is, the Good News isn't that you got a new car, a new house, etc. (I'm not saying this is bad news!). That stuff is temporary, the Good News is when you and I can share a Soul victory. To be able to express something that can't be satisfied in the physical or in the tangible. Anyone can make money if they work, but no one can change their feelings, pain or hurt. These things can only be mended by the One above. Today I encourage you to share the "Good News" with someone around you. Let them know that though the devil tried to snuff you out, all he did was get you realigned! What do you have to lose?

Dios los bendiga!

Alguna vez pasaste una circunstancia bien mala para despues darte cuenta que esa situacion lo que hizo fue fortalecerte mas? Pudiste luego compartir esa experiencia con alguien? Quizas preguntaras porque compartir esto con alguien. Muchos estan confusos con lo que es compartir las "Buenas Nuevas" . Las Buenas Nuevas no son las cosas que obtenemos aqui en la tierra, como un carro, casa, etc. (No estoy diciendo que estas son malas noticias!). Pero esas cosas son temporales, las Buenas Nuevas son las victorias del alma que obtenemos en nuestro caminar con Dios y en nuestro diario vivir. El poder expresar algo que no puede ser stisfecho en lo fisico o en lo tangible. Cual quiera puede trabajar para obtener un trabajo y riquezas, pero nadie puede obtener la victoria sobre nuestras emociones, nuestra pena y nuestro dolor. Estas cosas solo pueden ser sanadas a travez del Todo Poderoso. Hoy yo le animo que compartas las "Buenas Nuevas" con alguien en tu alrededor. Dele de saber a las personas que aunque el enemigo le trato de destruir, al final lo unico que hizo fue alinearte a una posicion de mas poder y autoridad! Tienes algo que perder en hacerlo?

        Did you know the devil fears you? Did you know that you have the right and power to change your current circumstances? If you didn't know these things then today is the day for you not only to hear it but to begin to visualize and live it! Why not? Who told you the Bible is not accurate? Who told you that God didn't do it for you? analyze the source of the words that are spoken to you and determine who your God is. Whoever we are listening to is sitting on the throne of our heart as God. I choose Jehovah!

¡Que Dios te Bendiga!

      ¿Sabias que el diablo te tiene miedo? ¿Sabias que tienes el derecho y el poder de cambiar tu situación actual? En caso de que no estuvieras consciente de estas cosas, hoy es el día perfecto no solo para que lo escuches, sino tambien para que ¡comienzes a visualizar estas cosas en tu vida y vivas de acuerdo con ellas! ¿Por qué no? ¿Quien te dijo que lo que dice la Biblia no es cierto? ¿Quien te ha dicho que Dios no te ha ayudado? Analiza bien de donde vienen estas palabras ó en que estan basadas estas cosas que tal vez te hayan dicho y determina bien quien es en realidad tu Dios. Aquella cosa o persona a la cual escogemos escuchar y creer, es la que tiene el control de nuestro corazón. ¡Yo escogo a Jehová!

      Why do we go to church? Why do we not go to church? When analyzing our lives and decisions when it comes to the two prior mentioned questions many of us have a list of reasons for either decision. Ultimately no matter why we choose what we choose, we all have to understand that the true reason to go to church is to celebrate the Abundance of His steadfast love and mercy. That's what it is all about, it's not for the kids or because it's the "right thing" to do, although it will bring benefits. It's because He is so good to us, how can we remain silent?

Porque es que vamos a la iglesia? O porque es que no vamos a la iglesia? Cuando analizamos nuestra vida y las dos preguntas que acabo de preguntar muchos tenemos respuestas para cual quiera de esas preguntas. Cual sea la respuesta o la razon por lo cual lo hacemos o no lo hacemos, al final del dia tenemos que entender que lo debemos de hacer para celebrar la abundancia continua de su amor y de su misericordiaiona para con nosotros! No se trata de ir por nuestros hijos o porque es lo correcto de hacer, aunque tambien eso trae beneficios. Lo hacemos porque Dios es tan fiel y bueno con nosotros, como podemos silenciar nuestro agradecimiento a El?

       I'm moved by God today to speak to you today. Yes You! do you think it's a coincidence you ended up on the list? That you decided to read this post? What message do I have for you? It's simple, He has heard your prayer! I know it still seems hard to think that I'm speaking to you but He knows the struggles you have been going through and knows the measure you can handle. He has a plan for you despite what the enemy has sworn to do to you. Today I encourage you to stand fast and be still because He is in the middle of your situation! He hasn't lost control nor will He begin to now. I know you may say but I didn't kneel down to pray about what I'm going through but, He doesn't need you to be religious in your speaking to Him, He simply seeks you to continue to talk to Him when you are on the go, in the car, in the bus, in train, etc. He is all ears for you!

         Throughout history we have heard of people who have stood out for doing something above and beyond the normal. Whether it was a physical, financial, heroic or destructive defeat, when all was said and done they were known for something. Everyone has the opportunity to leave a legacy just as I mentioned before, the question today is "will we"? Sure we can get by life simply doing the normal, doing what everyone else does and we may find happiness in mediocrity but, do you want to be known as "that guy"? A forgettable image in the short term memory of  a few? This is not the plan of God for your life!

         God has designed us to be special, we were made to shine and be the trophy of The Lord. You don't believe me? Would you give up your child for someone if they didn't mean the world to you? I didn't think so. His plan for you and I was to multiply the good deeds as Jesus demonstrated while here on the earth. He doesn't want you and I to suffer like many but rather He wants us to thrive. So what do we do with this knowledge? Make someone notice you by the gifts He has given you!

¡Que Dios te Bendiga!

        A través del tiempo, todos hemos escuchado de personas que han sobresalido en comparación a los demás; algo que han hecho los ha hecho llamar la atención de otros. Estos individuos han sobresalido mucho más allá de lo que consideramos "normal" con sus acciones. Puede ser que sea en lo fisíco, económico, algun acto heróico, como tambien puede ser que sea por algo no muy bueno como puede ser alguna hazaña destructiva o algo asi, pero algo hicieron que logro que la mayoria de personas, los reconozcamos con facilidad. Cada uno de nosotros tenemos la oportunidad de dejar un legado en esta vida como las personas que mencione anteriormente, mi pregunta hoy es: ¿queremos hacer esto? Claro que podemos seguir viviendo solo haciendo lo normal, haciendo lo mismo que hacen los demás y hasta puede ser, que encontremos felicidad en la mediocridad. Pero en realidad analizemos, ¿queremos ser reconocidos de esta manera? ¿Será que estamos satisfechos con ser una memoria de corto plazo en la memoria de algunos? ¡Esto no es lo que Dios planeó para tu vida!

        Dios nos diseño para ser personas muy especiales; fuimos creados para brillar y ser el trofeo del Señor. ¿No me crees? ¿Estarias dispuesto a entregar tu hijo para salvar la vida de alguien si ese alguien no significara mucho para ti? Creo que jamás lo harias. El plan de Dios para tí y para mí es que multipliquemos toda buena obra que Jesus nos dejo como ejemplo. El Señor no quiere que sigamos sufriendo por nuestro errores, lo que El en realidad decea es que progresemos y triúnfemos en todo. Entonces, ¿que hacemos con esta información? ¡Haz algo para que te puedan reconocer por las cosas que Dios ha depositado en ti! Te reto a que te hagas conocer, Pastor Joell A. Perez

         So you have a train to catch at 9 o'clock, you look at your watch and you realize it's 5 minutes to 9 and you are blocks away from the station. Sound familiar? You run as fast and as hard as you can to make the train because you realize if you miss that train you will be late or not make your final destination at all. As you run the goal gets closer and closer, you finally make it to the platform and the train strolls right into the station. You board the train and pay the fee. You made it! Yes you may be sweaty, yes your clothes may not look as sharp as they did before you started running but you made it! Next to you there is a person that coordinated their time a bit better to make the train, they woke up earlier, drove in sooner to the station and had time to pick up a coffee! So why am I bringing this up?

         The point today is that yes we may be late on many things in life and we may look like a mess because we are trying to catch up to everybody but, as long as we make the train that's all that matters. Should we be last minute wonders our whole life? Of course not but that's what living and learning is all about. This same concept applies in our walk with God. I'm not saying we should be last minute wonders at all when it comes to God but if we have been able to make it up to this point lets learn our lesson and become proactive rather than reactive.....

¡Que Dios Te Bendiga!

 Tu tren sale de la estación a las 9 y punto, miras tu reloj y de repente te das cuenta que faltan solo 5 minutos para las 9 y tú aun estas a muchas cuadras de la estación. ¿Te suena esto un poco familiar? De un momento a otro comienzas a correr con todas tus fuerzas y energia porque sabes, que si no alcanzes tu tren, llegarás a tu destino demasiado tarde o tal vez peor aún, si pierdes tu tren, tal vez nunca veas tu destino final. A medida que corres te vas acercando más y más y por fín llegas a la plataforma al mismo tiempo que el tren llega y abre sus puertas. Te subes al tren y pagas tu boleto...¡lo alcanzaste! Puede ser que en este momento te encuentres prespirando más de la cuenta, puede ser que tu ropa ahora este arrugada y ya no te veas tan bien arreglado que como cuando saliste de casa, pero lo que importa es que lograste cojer tu tren. Sentado al lado tuyo se encuentra una persona que supo coordinar mucho mejor su tiempo para cojer el tren, se levantaron más temprano, manejaron y estacionaron su auto más temprano que tu y hasta les alcanzo el tiempo para comprar un café! ¿Por qué te menciono esta historia en el día de hoy?

       El punto que quiero hacer en este día es que tal vez sí sea cierto que muchas veces en esta vida estamos corriendo y llegamos tarde a muchas cosas y tambien puede ser que cuando llegamos, estamos un poco desarreglados por los afánes de tratar de llegar a tiempo al igual que los demás pero quiero aclarar, que lo que en realidad importa es que alcanzemos nuestro tren, esto es lo más importante. ¿Sera que debemos ser personas que siempre estan retrazadas? Por supuesto que no, pero la vida se trata precisamente de esto, de vivir y aprender. Debemos entender que este mismo concepto tambien se aplica a nuestro caminar con Dios. No les estoy diciendo que vivamos siempre atrazados en las cosas del Señor, pero si hasta este momento hemos logrado completar nuestras metas, aprendamos la lección y seamos personas más proactivas (dinámicas y productivas) y menos reactivas...

 Muchas veces quedo sin aire despues de la carrera,

                In times like today and in the society we live in, it is very clear that we have to stake a claim on the things we believe to be ours. Around the world we see that anyone who doesn't retain a strong grip on something loses it fairly quickly. This same outcome is shared by everyone that doesn't hold firm to the authority and positioning that has been granted to them by God. Why is this important? If we want to be blessed we have to begin to declare that which is ours. How? Talk about them, emphasize them and let it be known clearly that they are yours! Not that you might get something but, that you already have it! I know many may say: "Pastor are you telling me to Lie?", NO I'm telling you to speak your blessings into existence! What do you have to lose?

     As I was walking to the train this morning I was contemplating the fact that today is a new day and whatever happened yesterday has passed. I'm sure many are saying "duhhh" but, it's rare for me personally not to tie days in together. What I mean by that is my grudges get dragged for days, my attitude gets dragged for days, my stress gets dragged for days and I don't seem to get the concept of starting fresh that easily. I share this because today is a new day and anything we did yesterday can't be changed today, it already happened. Of course we may try to rectify a mistake but we can't erase the initial action we took even if no one ever knows about it (we still know). The moral today is to fix what may have been distorted yesterday but let's face today with a different outlook knowing God has already turned the page and the Son has risen on this new day!

¡Que Dios Te Bendiga!

      Mientras caminaba esta mañana hacia el tren, me encontraba contemplando el hecho de que hoy es un nuevo día y que todo lo que sucedio ayer yá es cosa del pasado. Estoy seguro de que muchos deben estar pensando "por supuesto que es un nuevo día", pero lo que sucede es que para mí en lo personal, es muy difícil desconectar un día del otro, usualmente los úno. Lo que trato de decir con esto es que usualmente arrastro mis resentimientos conmigo por muchos días. Llevo mis niveles de estrés conmigo por días y días y realmente me cuesta mucho trabajo comprender el concepto de "comenzar de nuevo". Comparto esto con ustedes porque hoy es un nuevo día y cualquier cosa que hayamos hecho ayer ya no podemos cambiarla hoy, eso ya sucedio. Sobra decir que podemos tratar de rectificar o correguir nuestros errores del ayer pero la realidad es, que no podemos borrar esa primera acción incorrecta aún cuando pensamos que nadie se dio cuenta (nosotros y Dios sí lo sabemos). La moraleja de hoy es que tratemos de arreglar lo que esta distorsionado del ayer pero siempre mirando el "hoy" con una nueva perpectiva, reconociendo que, ¡Dios ya voltio la pagina y sú Hijo ya resucitó en este nuevo día!
