       If at first you don't succeed try and try again. Have you ever heard this saying? It has to be one of the wisest statements ever made. It applies to every area of life and to every type of person. The verse today talks about a man who dealt with doubt, when he was confronted by Jesus he immediately realized the key in believing was repeating the Truth over and over until his mind and actions aligned. Are we in a tough place today? Then lets repeat over and over we will have the victory! Why? Why not? Would it be better for us to stay in pain and disbelief?

            Su no triunfas en tu primer intento, vuelve a intentarlo una y otra vez. ¿Haz escuchado esto antes? Esta es una de las frases más sabias que existen. Esta se puede aplicar en toda área de nuestra vida y también a toda clase de persona. El versículo de hoy nos habla de un hombre que lidiaba con la duda; un día cuando fue confrontado por Jesús, de inmediato pudo reconocer que la clave para creer era repetir La Verdad una y otra vez hasta que las palabras se alinearan con las acciones. ¿Sera que estamos en un lugar incomodo y lleno de duda hoy en día? Entonces repitamos una y otra vez: ¡¡Nosotros obtendremos la Victoria!! ¿Por qué? ¿Por qué no más bien? ¿Sera que es mejor quedarnos estancados en el dolor y la duda?

          All it takes is faith. What we are going through today simply takes faith to surpass. Easier said than done, huh? Yes it is, but that doesn't mean it’s impossible. Impossible is a curse! A curse that was turned around and abolished the day Jesus died on the cross for us. There is nothing "impossible" for the children of God. All things are possible if we believe and it becomes easier to believe when we wake up to the reality of who our God truly is. Do we really know our God? If not that so called "impossibility"  should stimulate our need to get to know Him. Today is a new day and a great time to start to get to know Him better!

            Lo que necesitamos es Fe. Las cosas por las que estamos pasando hoy en día las podremos superar si mantenemos nuestra fe. Se que es mucho mas fácil decirlo que vivirlo. Reconozco esto, pero también se que no es imposible. La palabra imposible es como una maldición. Una maldición que fue destruida y abollada el día que Jesús murió en la cruz.  Todo es posible si verdaderamente creemos y es más fácil creer si cada día nos levantamos reconociendo, quien en realidad es nuestro Dios. ¿Sera que lo conocemos en realidad? En caso que no lo conozcamos muy bien el solo hecho de pensar que nuestro “imposible” es Posible con El, debería incrementar nuestro deseo de conocerlo. ¡Hoy es un nuevo día ideal para comenzar a conocerlo mucho mejor!

    Where is our strength found? In our muscles? In our wallets? In our jobs? In our education? Nope. Only in God. All the things of this earth are bound to pass away but His eternal love and strength will never run out. Time and time again in my personal life I have seen His mercy towards me. When even I couldn’t stand looking at myself in the mirror, He continued to look at me with eyes of love. It doesn’t make sense to this human being but His consistency has conquered my heart and swept me off my feet for good. If you don’t believe then you have never felt Him love you. I will tell you one thing today, though I have not reached perfection yet it sure feels great to know He still loves me and He will always support me. Do you know Him? Do you feel weak? If you can review your circumstances and be honest and realize you need Him, well I have great news for you: His arms are wide open for you right now!

      Good morning! I mean it “ Good Morning!”. Today is a new day, a fresh start the commencement of a new opportunity for us to thrive! Yes you and I have failed many times but the Love that He shows is not conditional. He is the same today, yesterday and for all eternity. He can’t change, He is the definition of Love made flesh. In this day let’s start with a clear recognition of His great love for us, lets realize the greatness of the sacrifice He made and lets not let His joy over us go to waste! Enjoy your day because He made it with that purpose exactly. What do you lose in having joy?

            ¡Buenos Días! De todo corazón les digo: ¡¡¡Buenos Días!!! Hoy es un nuevo día, una nueva oportunidad para triunfar. Sí, es cierto que tú y yo hemos fallado muchas veces pero el Amor de Dios para con nosotros es incondicional. ¡El es el mismo ayer, hoy y por los siglos de los siglos! El nunca va a cambiar, el es la definición total del Amor hecho carne. En este día, reconozcamos su gran amor por nosotros, reconozcamos la grandeza de su sacrifico. No dejemos que el gozo que El nos regaló, se nos escape. Disfruta de este día porque el Señor lo hizo precisamente para eso… para que lo disfrutáramos. ¿Qué pierdes al vivir una vida llena del gozo del Señor?

                Do you remember that teacher that would get on you all the time because you did something wrong in school? During the times they corrected you, were you happy about it? Now looking back today and seeing the change in your life from it, were they really as bad as you thought they were? Of course not, they actually cared and that’s why they corrected you, not to mention it is their job. So being that we learned from this experience in the past why don’t we remember that when we are corrected today by our leaders? Ouch. Now don’t misunderstand what I’m saying here today, this isn’t about trying to make leaders jobs easier it’s really about using our time and energy wisely. Why do we fight the Truth? Why do we agitate ourselves by trying to do things our way instead of the way thing are guaranteed to work? I know it’s hard to hear this today but it’s even harder to write it. Like our parents said to us after disciplining us “this hurts me more than it hurts you”. As a leader we never want to bring correction but its why we are here and if we don’t do it we will be picking up the pieces of people’s lives instead of rejoicing in their victories. The one we love we correct.

¡Que Dios Te Bendiga!
             ¿Puedes recordar a ese maestro en el colegio que se pasaba corrigiéndote todo el tiempo porque hacías cosas incorrectas en clase? ¿Te gustaba o te sentías bien cuando ellos te corregían? Ahora que somos adultos y podemos analizar esas correcciones, ¿será que de verdad fueron tan malos al corregirnos? Por supuesto que no lo fueron, lo más seguro es que ellos nos corrigieron porque les importábamos y querían lo mejor para nosotros (este también era su trabajo). Si podemos comprender la importancia de la corrección con el ejemplo que les acabo de dar, ¿por qué nos cuesta tanto trabajo aceptar que hoy en día aún necesitamos corrección de parte de nuestros líderes? ¡Auch! Ahora por favor no mal interpreten lo que estoy tratando de decirles hoy, esto no se trata de hacerles el trabajo más fácil a los líderes, esto se trata de usar nuestro tiempo y energía más sabiamente. ¿Por qué peleamos en contra de la Verdad? ¿Por qué nos desgastamos tanto tratando de hacer todo a nuestra manera cuando hay una manera que garantiza nuestro triunfo (la manera de Dios)? Yo se que no es fácil escuchar esto hoy pero créanme cuando les digo que es más difícil escribirlo. De igual manera que nuestros padres nos decían después de castigarnos que eso les dolía más a ellos que a nosotros, como líderes yo se que no nos gusta tener que corregir, pero para eso estamos aquí. Si no corregimos a tiempo, después estaremos recogiendo con tristeza los daños que las personas se han hecho a si mismos en vez de regocijarnos junto con ellos en sus victorias. Corregimos a los que amamos.

                One of the most fascinating things I see in humans is our ability to deny our wrong but, how we have our eyes set on the wrong of others. I am the most guilty at this! Sure I can lie to you and tell you I float on air and commit no sins or I can be honest and admit that I have many faults, some that you will see and some you may never know about. Why do I share this today? Love is all about willingness to change and showing enough care to stimulate change in others. Many people misunderstand love assuming it is only about gift giving and coddling but correction and exhortation takes a back seat to love because no one wants to be the “bad guy”. Why? Our everlasting desire of acceptance!

Do you think our parents cared about acceptance as they corrected us growing up? Of course not (not the old school parents at least), all they had in mind was “how do I make my child the most well behaved, successful, prosperous person possible?” Today not only parents but also society  have taken a back seat to correction because as it is said “everyone has the right to decide what’s best for them”, really? A kid, a teenager, a non-mature Christian? Do we allow people to make the same mistakes we made simply so they can develop rights? Or do we love people enough that when we see them stray from the Truth we talk them back to the right path? Let me put it like this: would you let your 9 year old child play with an open flame? Of course not (I hope) I assume you would jump up and shout “don’t play with that!”. Why? Your love drives you to protect them, correction is all about preparation and protection. So why do we not want to do it anymore? Why have we stopped being parents? Leaders? Pastors?

 This takes me to the adults, how many of us don’t say something constructive to our brethren because we know we too have sin in our lives therefore we don’t want anyone to say anything to us? Ouch! The truth is flying out today! Love is correction, love is exhortation, love is gift giving but love is not ignoring and making believe everything is going to be all right when we are doing the wrong thing. Our job as Christians is to love each other enough to talk to each other. Always doing it in love and with a witness if necessary as scripture states. I’m not trying to start a brigade of judges here but I am trying to start a movement of excellence amongst the brethren which will in turn create a greater unity and stronger belief structure not only in the church but also in our family’s. Why are preachers kids famous for being bad? We the pastors, leaders and preachers don’t want to fill our role where it counts, only where it’s easy! It’s time for change. There is always a way to bring correction and we should do it in love and never with a superior eye or we will begin to see relationships deteriorate and change and from that good will never occur. The most important thing to remember is “We are all in this process of change together, no one yet has acquired perfection, only Jesus !”.

¡Que Dios Te Bendiga!

Una de los cosas más fascinantes que he notado en nosotros los humanos, es nuestra habilidad de negar que estamos haciendo algo erróneo pero si podemos con facilidad, señalar lo erróneo en los demás. ¡Les puedo confesar que yo soy el más culpable de estos Por supuesto que si quisiera les podría mentir y decirles que floto en el aire y que jamás cometo pecado, pero prefiero ser honesto y admitir que tengo muchas faltas…muchas de estas ustedes las pueden notar y otras  solo las sabemos Dios y yo. ¿Por qué comparto esto con ustedes en este día? El amor se trata de las ganas que tenemos de cambiar y a la misma vez estimular a los demás para que ellos también cambien lo que esta mal. Muchas personas piensan que el amor solo se trata de dar regalos y consentir y desafortunadamente la corrección y exhortación se echan a un lado porque nadie quiere tener el rol de ser el que corrige. ¿Por qué sucede esto? ¡Porque todos deseamos ser aceptados por los demás en todo tiempo!

¿Será que a nuestro padres les importo ser aceptados o no cuando nos tuvieron que corregir en nuestra niñez? Claro que no (por lo menos no los padres de mi época). Lo único que ellos tenían en mente era, ¿cómo corrijo a mis hijos para que se comporten bien y en un futuro sean exitosos y prósperos? Hoy en día muchos padres y la sociedad en general han puesto a un lado la corrección porque en estos tiempos modernos, “todos” tienen la libertad de elegir lo que piensan que es mejor para ellos, ¿será esto cierto? Un niño, un adolescente, un cristiano no-maduro…todos pasamos por esto hoy en día. ¿Sera que debemos permitir que los demás cometan los mismos errores que un día cometimos nosotros simplemente con la idea de que así aprenderán? O ¿será que amamos lo suficiente a los demás como para corregirlos cuando vemos que no están viviendo en la Verdad y tratamos de regresarlos al camino correcto? Permítanme explicarlo de la siguiente manera: ¿dejarías que un niño de 9 años jugara con candela? ¡Por supuesto que no! (por lo menos esto es lo que espero que la mayoría de ustedes respondan), lo que espero es que brinquen de inmediato y no permitan que el niño juego con el fuego. ¿Por qué? Porque tu amor te lleva a querer proteger a ese niño, la corrección se trata de preparación y protección. Entonces, ¿Por qué es que muchos ya no desean hacer esto? ¿Por qué hemos dejado de proteger correctamente cuando somos padres, pastores o líderes?

Esto también me lleva a pensar en nosotros los adultos. ¿Por qué es que muchos de nosotros no nos atrevemos a decir algo constructivo a nuestros hermanos en la fe? ¿Será que el hecho que tengamos algún pecado en nosotros, nos impide hacerlo porque no queremos que después nos corrijan a nosotros? ¡Auchhh! ¡Hoy estoy diciendo muchas verdades! El amor es corrección, el amor es exhortación, el amor se trata de detalles pero no de salir corriendo pretendiendo que todo esta bien cuando sabemos que no es cierto. Nuestro trabajo como cristianos es amarnos lo suficiente para hablar de todo. Siempre debemos hablar en amor y si es posible hasta con un testigo como dice la Palabra. No estoy tratando de comenzar una brigada de testigos, lo que estoy tratando de iniciar es un movimiento de excelencia entre todos mis hermanos y hermanas en la fe, y de esta manera, crear una estructura fuerte y resistente de nuestras creencias por medio de la unidad, no solo en nuestra iglesia, sino también en nuestras familias. ¿Por qué es que los hijos de los pastores tienen fama de ser muchachos traviesos y meterse en problemas? Esto sucede porque nosotros como pastores, líderes y predicadores, no tomamos el rol de correción como deberíamos hacerlo, lo hacemos solo cuando es fácil. Ha llegado la hora de cambiar esto. Siempre hay maneras de corregir, y lo debemos hacer en amor sin necesidad de ser arrogantes. Si no lo hacemos comenzaremos a ver como muchas relaciones se van a deteriorar y los cambios positivos jamás sucederán. ¡Lo más importante que debemos recordar es que todos estamos en este proceso, juntos!

                Have you ever spoken to someone and their words (though they may have been complimentary) hurt more than helped? What do I mean by hurt? What I guess I’m trying to say can best be explained by describing a scenario:

“A man comes home and has a huge fight with his spouse, after a long battle and many harmful words spoken the wife feels bad and attempts to compliment her spouse to try to appease the situation. He looks at her in disbelief and shrugs off the compliment.”

It wasn’t a bad thing that she did in complimenting him but the timing was completely off.  That compliment in the right circumstances could have escalated their relationship to a new level but a compliment or an indirect made in the wrong moment not only has no positive affect but can be taken as sarcasm or antagonism. The verse today is all about saying the right thing in the right moment, God wants us to change our perspective and approach on things. It is not easy but it is possible through Him. I challenge you today to take a step forward and pay someone a compliment in the right circumstance when you see their reaction you will know what is written below is truly accurate.

              Isn’t awesome to know that your God is the God of second chances? That He loves us despite all of our shortcomings and problems. His patience and everlasting forgiveness is something that truly is incomparable to anything this world has to offer. Why am I talking about this today? Have you ever felt on the edge of jumping? Maybe not literally and sadly maybe it is literally. Being at the edge is not the bad part but feeling like there is nothing left for you to stay on solid ground. Today I come with Good news for you, He is the God of second chances and He wants for us to get off the ledge and realize His grace for us is so much bigger than what we can imagine. If we have gotten to this edge then we must recognize that His offer is a win, win for us as we were about to throw it all away anyway. What can we possibly have to lose? Try Him!

            ¿No te parece maravilloso saber que nuestro Dios es el Dios de segundas oportunidades? Es hermoso saber que El nos ama a pesar de todas nuestras fallas, nuestras deficiencias y errores. Su paciencia y eterno perdón son verdaderamente incomparables, no las podemos comparar con nada que este mundo nos pueda ofrecer. ¿Por qué les hablo de esto hoy? ¿Alguna vez has tenido las ganas de brincar al abismo? Puede ser literalmente o imaginariamente. El sentirnos al borde del abismo no es lo malo, lo malo es sentir que no hay ninguna otra salida, el sentir que nada nos puede sostener en tierra firme. Hoy día vengo con buenas noticias, ¡Dios es el Dios de las segundas oportunidades! El quiere que hoy día reconozcamos que su gracia es todo lo que necesitamos para estar en tierra firme. Su gracia va mucho más haya de lo que podemos imaginarnos. Si hemos llegado al borde de ese abismo, entonces llegó el momento de que reconozcas que lo que Dios te ofrece, solo nos convertirá en ganadores. ¿Qué tenemos que perder con darle una oportunidad a Dios?...inténtalo… ¡no te arrepentirás!

         Nice cars, Big house, Nice clothes, jewelry, travel and so many other things that as humans we desire but what are we willing to give up for them? We all give up time for them and this value is not negotiable no matter what amount of money you make and how you make it. Besides time, what else do we sacrifice to obtainr them? Family, children, spouses and oh yeah God. Isn't interesting how we give up these things all for the hope of attaining a simply passing pleasure? How is it that we work so hard and enjoy so little?  We have been programmed to work and sacrifice so much but when it comes to enjoying the fruit of our labor, it actually becomes a job on its own. What do I mean? Has it ever taken you time to simply decompose after a Friday work day? Speaking personally, it takes me about a day just to get out of work mode and by then, I realize the weekend is almost over and I have to gear up for work again, am I alone on this?

        So what am I talking about today? We have to begin to put joy before money. I’m speaking to myself here! We have to begin to evaluate our invested time and see if we are attributing the correct amount of time to the things we are supposed to be enjoying as opposed to just working. Am I saying we should be lazy just to "Enjoy life"? Of course not, what I am saying is we need to work smarter and not harder. Evaluate our time invested into different things and cut out the fat. Is it easy? No, the verse today makes a clear point, what good is it to have a nice car and never have someone sit in it with you? A nice house and no one to watch a movie in it with you? A nice wardrobe and no one to impress with it (at least no one you care about). It time for us to evaluate what is important. Most importantly what good is it to have everything in this world and end up in the eternal Caribbean (Hell)?

¡Que Dios Te Bendiga!

            Hay muchos carros lindos, casas grandes, joyas, viajes y muchas otras cosas que como humanos deseamos, pero mi pregunta es, ¿qué estamos dispuestos a sacrificar para obtener estas cosas? Todos damos una parte de nuestro tiempo para obtener estas cosas y este, no es negociable; no importa cuanto dinero ganemos o como lo ganemos. Aparte del tiempo, ¿qué otra cosa sacrificamos? Nuestra familia, hijos, conyugues…y sí, también a Dios. ¿No les parece interesante como estamos dispuestos a sacrificar estas cosas tan valiosas para obtener algo que solo es pasajero? ¿Por qué trabajamos tanto pero disfrutamos poco? Hemos sido programados para trabajar y sacrificar pero cuando llega la hora de disfrutar de lo que tanto hemos trabajado, nos cuesta mucho trabajo disfrutarlo. ¿A que me refiero? ¿Alguna vez te ha costado trabajo relajarte un viernes después del trabajo? En lo personal, a mí me toma más o menos 1 día entero antes de que reaccione de que ya no es tiempo de trabajar, cuando reacciono de que estoy en el fin de semana, ya casi es hora de comenzar una nueva semana de trabajo…¿será que soy el único al que le sucede esto?

            ¿Por qué les hablo de esto hoy? Tenemos que comenzar a darle prioridad al gozo, antes que cualquier cantidad de dinero. ¡Me estoy hablando a mi mismo! Tenemos que comenzar a analizar el tiempo que estamos invirtiendo en cosas relacionadas con el trabajo y ver si verdaderamente estamos disfrutando de  las cosas que sí valen la pena. ¿Será que estoy sugiriendo que tenemos que ser perezosos para poder disfrutar la vida? Por supuesto que no, lo que estoy diciendo es que tenemos que trabajar mas sabiamente y no necesariamente más tiempo. Evalúa el tiempo que inviertes a cada actividad y corta las cosas innecesarias, ¿será esto fácil de hacer? No…el versículo de hoy hace un énfasis claro, ¿de que nos sirve tener un lindo carro si jamás podemos salir a disfrutarlo con alguien a nuestro lado? ¿De que nos sirve tener una hermosa casa si no tenemos a nadie a nuestro lado para sentarnos a disfrutar de una película? ¿De que nos sirve tener ropa fina sino podemos salir a lucirla con alguien que nos admire? Llegó el tiempo de que evaluemos lo que es importante en nuestra vida. Lo más importante de esto es comprender que no nos sirve de nada el tenerlo todo si al final...terminamos en el infierno.

Today is a great day to start fresh, forget about what happened this week, forget about the problem that has been following you, grab on to God today and realize He is all about blessing you!

            Hoy vengo con un mensaje bien simple. ¡DISFRUTA LA VIDA! Gastamos demasiado tiempo quejándonos de la vida, hablamos de lo que no tenemos, de lo que quisiéramos tener, de todo lo que necesitamos, etc. Gastamos tanto tiempo en la queja que la vida se nos va en solo quejaderas. Estoy seguro que no soy el único que hace esto. Hoy es un día estupendo para comenzar con una nueva perspectiva, olvidemos lo que sucedió en los últimos días, olvidémonos del problema que aun no tiene solución, acércate a Dios y agárrate fuerte a El…reconoce que lo único que El quiere, ¡es bendecirte!

Are we in the end times? Maybe, probably, most definitely but we can’t obsess about the end so much that we don't enjoy our today! The time will come but it’s not for us to try to figure out when but we should instead live each day as if it was the last....

¡Que Dios Te Bendiga!

            Desde niño he escuchado el tema de “Los Últimos Tiempos”. Caminando por la ciudad veo a los grupos de personas con los carteles proclamando que estamos viviendo los últimos tiempos, cuando prendo la televisión veo a diferentes predicadores hablando del mismo tema. ¿Será que de verdad estamos viviendo los últimos tiempos? De pronto, tal vez, probablemente…lo que no debemos hacer es obsesionarnos tanto por “los tiempos” y no disfrutar el hoy y ahora. El final llegará, pero no es nuestro trabajo el descifrar cuando es que esto sucederá, lo que tenemos que hacer es vivir cada día, como si fuera nuestro ultimo día…

     Christianity is not about the first love alone but, the action of love we retain after time. Many of us start strong but some of us fall apart during the struggle and growth. Is this good? Of course not but I'm here with good news for us today. We may have fallen off, backslid, second guessed God, etc. But remember always, God wants us back no matter how far we may have gone! It’s not how good or bad we may have started the race, it's more about how we will finish. What end will you choose to have?

 El Cristianismo no se trata solamente de mantener nuestro primer amor, sino de vivir en amor todo el tiempo. Muchos de nosotros comenzamos con buenos ánimos pero en el transcurso de nuestra vida, cuando comenzamos a luchar contra ciertas cosas, perdemos nuestra fuerza y nos deshacemos. ¿Será que esto es bueno para nosotros? Por supuesto que no, pero hoy día tengo buenas noticias. Puede ser que hayamos fallado, recaído, dudado, etc., en Dios pero El nos quiere decir que no importa lo que haya sucedido, El nos espera con brazos abiertos. Recuerden, no se trata de cómo comenzamos, lo más importante es como terminemos. ¿Qué final escoges?

       I remember a couple of times in ministry I was confronted with people calling me "father", my reaction was just about the same every time: huh?? As a jokester that I am, I would say to them you can only call me that if I can claim you on my taxes (laughing out loud). Why am I talking about this today? The verse today is a clear statement from the Lord to us that the true title of "Father" only belongs to Him. We can’t build up any human in our hearts or mind to that level of "Father" because they will surely fail us overtime. This includes pastors, leaders, ministers, etc. this is one of the biggest reasons our relationship with God at times is so hard to engage. We have watered down the title "Father" due to all of our "Daddy" and "Leader" issues. This title only belongs to Him! When we can clear this up in our hearts and mind entering into relationship with Him becomes natural and easy. It goes without saying that we must respect our earthly father as such but they will make mistakes: forgive so we can be forgiven.

¡Que Dios Te Bendiga!

            Recuerdo que varias veces durante el tiempo que llevo de pastor, algunas personas me han llamado “padre”, mi reacción casi siempre ha sido la misma: ¿Cómo? Como me gusta ser chistoso, muchas veces les he contestado que si no los puedo poner como dependientes en mis impuestos, por favor no me llamen así (jijiji). ¿Por qué les hablo de esto hoy? El versículo de hoy nos confirma que el único que verdaderamente merece el titulo de “Padre” es Dios. No debemos crearnos ídolos ni en nuestra mente, ni en nuestro corazón…no debemos ponerle a nadie el título de “Padre”, porque lo más seguro es que tarde o temprano, nos fallaran. Esto también incluye a pastores, líderes, ministros, etc. Muchos hemos cometido este error y es por esto que muchas veces nos cuesta trabajo mejorar nuestra relación con Dios. Pensamos que El nos herirá de la misma manera que lo han hecho los demas. La palabra “Padre” en referencia a Dios ha perdido su valor porque hemos puesto a otros en su lugar y ahora lo comparamos a El, con lo que los demás han hecho. ¡El titulo de Padre le pertenece solo a Dios! Cuando aceptemos esto en nuestra mente y corazón, naturalmente comenzaremos a tener una mejor relación con El. No quiero terminar hoy sin aclarar que el mismo Dios nos manda a amar y respetar a nuestro padre terrenal pero ellos sí cometerán errores y tenemos que estar dispuestos a perdonar para ser perdonados.

      Have you ever been in a wedding where someone dressed in jeans and flip flops? Of course not! Why? There are a few unwritten codes that we as humans abide by. Now if we do it in the human terms should we not practice it in the spiritual as well? The verse today is all about a wedding where a man comes dressed out of class and is casted out because of his lack of preparation. Though the example was a parable let's relate it to our spiritual lives and realize that our time here on earth is for a preparation period, nothing else. Are we preparing for the wedding or are we staying in flip flops and jeans because its "Comfortable"? Did God call us to be comfortable or to be diligent and multiply? These are things we have to consider when determining if we are getting ready or if we are simply passing time.

            ¿Alguna vez has ido a uno boda donde alguien haya llegado vestido con jeans y chancletas? ¡Por supuesto que no! ¿Por qué no? Porque hay algunas reglamentos éticos a la hora de vestirnos que aunque no estén escritos, todos los conocemos. Ahora, si cumplimos estos reglamentos humanos al vestirnos, no les parece que deberíamos cumplir los espirituales, los cuales son aún más importantes. El versículo de hoy nos habla de un hombre que llego a una boda mal vestido y por esta razón lo sacaron de aquella celebración. Aunque este ejemplo es basado en una parábola, tomemos un momento para relacionarlo con nuestra vida espiritual y reconozcamos que nuestro tiempo aquí en la tierra es solo para prepararnos para las bodas del cordero y nada más. ¿Nos estamos preparando para nuestro encuentro con Dios o nos estamos quedando con los jeans y chancletas simplemente porque estamos cómodos?  ¿Será que Dios nos llamó a estar cómodos o a ser diligentes y multiplicarnos? Tenemos que analizar estas preguntas para determinar si verdaderamente nos estamos preparando o si estamos pasando el tiempo nada más.

Let’s get excited, let’s get radical, let’s get loud and boisterous and shout with power and strength and authority!!! How can we not for He is AWESOME!!!  We used to dance with all our heart in the clubs and move every ounce of our body for the sake of partying with no reward towards anyone but ourselves. We used to wear the best clothes and sing aloud when we loved that song we were dancing too for ourselves and those around us just because, not because we were asked too. We would jump up and shout and scream and cheer for our favorite sporting event without any reservation and for a team who has never personally done anything for us. We have done many diets and even starved ourselves for the sake of looking good for ourselves or to impress others, but it’s hard for us to take one day every so often too fast for the sake of entering into intimacy with God or sacrificing for the sake of LOVE for HIM.

God is calling for  a radical people! Those who do not care or fear the opinion of others, who will get out of their chair to jump and dance and party for the Lord and who will sing aloud a song to Him and worship with all their heart. Who will scream and cheer for God even louder than their favorite sporting team or concert or any kind of entertainment. Who will sacrifice their physical desires to draw closer to God through prayer and fasting for the sake of His Holy Name! All of the above never did anything so great to deserve the praise and excitement that we have poured over them, but the Lord Jesus Christ laid down His life to give us life and break every chain and bondage and access into His eternal Kingdom. Don’t you think He should be the one to get all the accolades? Just thinking aloud and redirecting my praise and worship to the one whom deserves it! Anyone else in? Let’s give Him a radical praise this weekend and evermore!

          ¡Alegrémonos, seamos radicales, alcemos nuestras voces con energía y gritemos con fuerza, poder y autoridad! ¡¡Como no hacerlo cuando nuestro Dios es tan MARAVILLOSO!! Muchos de nosotros bailábamos con pasión en las discotecas moviendo cada onza de nuestro cuerpo solo por gusto y para satisfacer nuestro deseo carnal de hacerlo; no había ninguna otra recompensa. Nos vestíamos con nuestra mejor ropa y cantábamos en voz alta cuando tocaban las canciones que nos gustaban y todo esto solo por que sí, ni siquiera era porque alguien nos había pedido que lo hiciéramos. Saltábamos, gritábamos y animábamos a los jugadores de nuestro equipo favorito sin ninguna reservación y lo interesante es que ninguno de sus jugadores ha hecho nada por nosotros. Muchos de nosotros hemos hecho toda clase de dietas y hasta hemos aguantando hambre solamente para lograr vernos mejor y para impresionar a los demás, pero se nos hace muy difícil ayunar de vez en cuando para lograr tener una relación mas íntima con Dios o simplemente, porque queremos hacer un sacrificio de amor hacia El.                                                                                                                                                                           ¡Dios esta llamándonos a ser personal radicales! El quiere que seamos personas a las cuales no les importa la opinión de los demás; El quiere que brinquemos de nuestra silla y comencemos una fiesta de celebración en honor a El, cantando y adorándolo con todo nuestro corazón. ¿Quién se atreve a gritar para el Señor aún más fuerte de lo que hacíamos en los partidos o conciertos? ¿Quién esta dispuesto a sacrificar sus deseos físicos para lograr acercarse más a Dios por medio del ayuno y la oración y para glorificar su Santo nombre? Nada ni nadie de las cosas que he mencionado anteriormente a hecho algo por nosotros para merecer la adoración y la energía que les dedicamos, sin embargo, el Señor Jesus dio su vida por nosotros para romper toda atadura y cadena de maldad y darnos acceso a su reino eterno. ¿No crees que sea El, el que se merece el tributo, honor y adoración? Hoy solo estoy pensando en voz alta y redirigiendo mi alabanza y adoración al que se la merece. ¿Habrá alguien que quiera unirse conmigo? ¡Comencemos a darle una adoración radical al que se la merece desde este fin de semana en adelante!

      Picture me telling you that you can share in the wealth of the richest person in the world. The only catch is  you have to duplicate the work they did to get there, are you still interested? I relate this to some of the great pastors and their struggles in building up ministry and at times (if I can be honest) I reconsider my call. This doesn’t mean I will give up, but it does mean I tip my hat to these men that have determined themselves to do the will of God and have seen the blessings that come along with this decision. As you hear me say continuously nothing in life is free. We have to push through the distractions, the tiredness and the mere desperation if we want to be able to share in the success. Now God comes into our lives and tries to make adjustments for us to succeed but we fight it over and over again. Am I right? We struggle against the one Being that is sold out 100% for us. Make sense? Of course we shouldn’t do this but we do time nd time again. Today He extends to us a reminder that if we listen to His words we will be sharers in His holiness. If we stop and think about that for a moment we will begin to see the big picture. Can you imagine the treasures held in His holiness? I will leave you with that duty to try to imagine His greatness and the things found in it.

            Imagínate que pudieras compartir las riquezas de la persona más millonaria del mundo. Ahora imagínate que la única manera de poder compartir estas riquezas fuera haciendo el doble del trabajo que le tomo a esa persona para adquirirlas, ¿sigues interesado en compartir? Puedo relacionar este ejemplo con el arduo y difícil trabajo que tienen algunos pastores para poder lograr que sus ministerios crezcan (permítanme ser honestos), pensando en esto, muchas veces reconsidero mi llamado. No estoy diciendo que me rindo sino más bien, que admiro grandemente o todos estos individuos que lo entregan todo por hacer la voluntad de Dios y como resultado, se pueden ver las grandes bendiciones que hoy en día tienen. Recuerden lo que siempre les digo, nada en esta vida es gratis. Tenemos que ser fuertes y seguir luchando en medio de las distracciones, tenemos que seguir aunque estemos cansados, aunque nos sintamos desesperados tenemos que seguir, para así poder disfrutar del éxito después. Ahora, reconozcamos que cuando Dios entra a nuestras vidas, El trata de hacer ajustes para mejorar nuestro estado pero somos nosotros, los que peleamos en su contra. ¿Digo la verdad o no? ¡Peleamos en contra del único ser que esta 100% de nuestro lado y nuestro favor! ¿Tiene esto algún sentido? Por supuesto que no deberíamos pelear en contra de lo que El está tratando de hacer pero la verdad es que si peleamos. En el día de hoy El quiere recordarnos que si escuchamos su voz, podremos compartir su Gloria juntamente con El. Si nos detenemos por un momento y analizamos bien lo que El nos esta diciendo, podremos comenzar a ver el resultado final. ¿Se pueden imaginar todos los tesoros que hay en la Gloria de Dios? Les dejo esa tarea, imagínense los grandes y hermosos tesoros que hallaremos en la Gloria de Dios…

    Do you remember growing up and wishing no one told you what to do? Wanting to go to sleep at the time you wanted, eating what ever you wanted and coming and going as you pleased?  For most of us these desires were exactly that, a desire, and never a reality and that is because our parent/s loved us enough to instruct us as to what was best for us. You may say how is it love to deprive us from something we “wanted” to do? It’s actually pretty simple, if as children we do and get anything we want we will find ourselves having issues continuously in life. Don’t get me wrong, when I was a kid I thought I knew it all as well but, today I realize I still have a lot to learn, do you? As parents (for those who are) we realize today how important these lessons from our parents were, how they saved us from headaches, sicknesses and dangers all the time. We have learned to appreciate our parents but it took us being in their shoes to understand. Why am I talking about all of this? The verse today talks about that treatment from a parent to a child and how if there is no correction or control established over a child then we are not treating them as children but rather as illegitimate offspring. In other words giving in to our kids every desire is not the right approach for the best outcome, can you imagine if God did this for us? I’m pretty sure that would be a  disaster! Moral today is: you get what you get and you don’t get upset…it's time to grow up!

            ¿Te acuerdas cuando eras más joven y muchas veces deseaste que nadie te digiera lo que tenias que hacer? Querías acostarte a la hora que tú veías conveniente, querías comer lo que a ti te gustaba, e ir y venir de casa cuando quisieras. Para la mayoría de nosotros estas cosas se quedaron solo en deseos porque no era nuestra realidad. Nuestros padres nos amaban tanto, que tenían que instruirnos con las cosas que eran mejor para nosotros. Puede ser que aún te preguntes, ¿qué clase de amor nos prohíbe lo que más nos gusta? En realidad es simple de explicar, si como niños recibimos todo lo que queremos sin ninguna clase de límites o reglas, tarde o temprano tendremos problemas (y serios). Cuando yo era un niño pensaba que me las sabía todas, pero ahora como adulto, reconozco que aún tengo mucho que aprender. ¿Será que tu también? Como padres (para los que ya somos), hoy en día podemos apreciar todas las lecciones que nos enseñaron nuestros padres, muchas de estas nos salvaron de varios dolores de cabeza y del peligro cantidad de veces. Hoy en día apreciamos a nuestros padres pero tuvimos que hacernos padres para poderlos entender. ¿Por qué les hablo de esto hoy? El versiculo de hoy nos habla del trato de padre a hijo y este nos explica que si no hay algún tipo de corrección y guía, entonces somos considerados “hijos ilegítimos”. En otras palabras el darle todo a nuestros hijos no es la mejor manera de enseñarles. ¿Se pueden imaginar que pasaría si Dios nos diera todo lo que queremos? ¡Estoy convencido que seria un desastre! La moreleja de hoy es: ¡acepta lo que recibes y deja de quejarte…madura!

                Let’s speak truthful this morning, have you ever felt deserted by God? Have you ever felt like maybe He forgot His promise to you? Maybe the prophet He used was lying to you? Maybe the prophet was speaking in the flesh, etc.? We all have in one moment or another doubted or second guessed our God. I don’t say this with pride but rather I say it in honesty. Why do we do it? We gradualy downgrade God from Supreme Being to human form so when we see something impossible for us, we assume it is also impossible for Him. Isn’t this true? We can all fight the truth but we will never win. The reason I am saying this today is because the verse of the day emphasizes that God will not in any degree leave us or forsake  us, we can’t lean towards the things of this world as if they could sustain us, but rather we need to lean on the Creator of this world who can and will provide all things. He encourages us today to separate from the love for this world and unite in love towards Him. There are benefits to having a relationship with God…

            En este día hablemos con la verdad, ¿alguna vez te has sentido abandonado por Dios? ¿Alguna vez has pensando que a Dios se le olvido lo que te prometió? Tal vez pensaste que el profeta que Dios mando para darte la promesa se equivocó…puede ser que esa profeta te haya mentido y lo que te digo no vino de Dios. Yo se, que todos en algún momento de nuestra vida hemos dudado que lo que Dios nos prometió sea cierto. No digo esto con orgullo alguno sino más bien con toda honestidad. ¿Por qué será que hacemos esto? Esto sucede porque gradualmente comenzamos a bajar a Dios de su trono y tratamos de humanizarlo; comenzamos a ver lo que es imposible para nosotros y asumimos que también será imposible para el. ¿Es cierto que hacemos esto o no? Podemos luchar contra la verdad todo lo que queramos pero esta siempre gana. La razón por la cual les comparto esto en este día es, porque el versículo de hoy nos recuerda que Dios bajo ninguna circunstancia nos abandonará. No podemos seguir dependiendo del mundo (este no nos podrá sostener), tenemos que descansar totalmente en nuestro creador y recordar que el siempre proveerá todo lo que necesitamos. En este día Dios quiero animarnos a que nos separemos del amor que tenemos por las cosas del mundo y nos acerquemos más a su Amor. Los beneficios de una relación con el son innumerables…

      The verse today for many of us is tough to swallow but it is very true. Now, I'm not saying boot everyone and everything important out of your life due to sheer religiousness but, I am saying that our priority has to be God if we desire to have eternal life. To be clearer our choice to follow God has to be wholeheartedly or all we are doing is completing a religious duty and that simply won’t get us into heaven. Jp

Matthew 19:29 "And anyone and everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or children or lands for My name’s sake will receive many [even a hundred] times more and will inherit eternal life."

            Para la mayoría de nosotros, el versículo de hoy es un poco difícil de digerir. Ahora, por favor no mal interpreten lo que estoy tratando de decir pensando que tenemos que actuar religiosamente y desechar todo lo que es importante para nosotros; lo que quiero recordarles es que si deseamos tener una vida eterna, tenemos que darle la prioridad a Dios. Para ser más claro aún les digo que nuestra decisión de seguir a Dios, tiene que ser de todo corazón porque sino es así, entonces lo estamos haciendo por pura religiosidad…y esto no nos dará un pase al cielo.

                Recently my oldest son went off to boot camp and he has been writing to me and telling me about how difficult the instructors are with regards to discipline. He actually thanked me for the years of instruction I offered and expressed how it prepared him for what he is taking on today. Why do I share this? He speaks about how they command him to do many things during this training and there is never a hint of it being an option to them to do what they are told to do. That’s the peculiar thing about commands they are not optional! As he has learned that at the sound of instruction he must act today I share a command from our Lord to us. Being that it is from our Lord doesn’t it warrant a greater respect and acknowledgment? He commands us today to be strong, vigorous and very courageous. Will we listen to Him or the enemy who tells us to give up? If my son doesn’t listen he faces the consequences of the people above him, if we don’t listen we face the consequences of the demons below us….. what do you choose to listen to?

            Hace poco mi hijo mayor se fue a un campo de entrenamiento militar, desde su partida el nos ha escrito varias veces contándonos lo difícil y estrictos que son los instructores en este campamento en lo referente a la disciplina. El ha expresado su gratitud por todos los años de instrucción y disciplina que vivió con nosotros (sus padres) y nos reafirma, que todas esas enseñanzas lo han ayudado mucho con las cosas a las cuales el se enfrenta hoy en día. ¿Por qué les comparto esto hoy? Mi hijo nos explica como en este entrenamiento la mayoría de veces los ordenan a hacer ciertas cosas y no se las dicen como si tuvieran alguna otra opción; tienen que hacer lo que se les ordena. Esto es lo interesante de cualquier “orden”, ¡no son opcionales! Así como mi hijo ha tenido que aprender que al instante de recibir la instrucción, tiene que actuar y obedecer, hoy les quiero recordar de una instrucción que Dios nos dejó. Ahora les pregunto, ¿no será que ya que esta instrucción viene de parte de Dios, esta merece mucho más respeto y reconocimiento?  Dios demanda de nosotros que seamos fuertes, vigorosos y que tengamos mucha valentía. ¿Será que escucharemos a Dios, o al enemigo que constantemente nos dice que nos rindamos? Si mi hijo no escucha las ordenes de sus superiores, el sabe que tendrá que sufrir las consecuencias; si nosotros no escuchamos a Dios, entonces sufriremos las consecuencias de los demonios que se encuentran debajo de nosotros… ¿a quien escucharás?

                There is a cost to everything in life. If you want a happy marriage you must work at it, if you want good kids you must invest time into them, if you want to be successful you have to work. These requirements are universal in being successful at anything in life, if we don’t work we don’t get to play! Today’s verse below is expressing the requirement for us to carry our cross if we want to be a disciple of Jesus. Why carry a cross, aren’t we supposed to be free? Yes we are free but the cross we are carrying is a reminder of how Good God is to us. What do I mean? It’s simple, our cross is a memory log of all of our experiences, the question is, do we feel the pain we went through alone or do we enjoy the victory we have and have had? Our cross could be the biggest attribute of our Christian walk if we allow it to be. Are we hiding in sadness because we can’t value happiness? Want to follow Him then let’s get our crosses out and walk!

            Todo en esta vida tiene su precio. Si quieres un matrimonio feliz, tienes que trabajar arduamente para lograrlo. Si quieres tener unos buenos hijos, tienes que dedicarles tiempo, si quieres ser exitoso tienes que trabajar. Estos requisitos son universales para poder ser personas de éxito, si no trabajamos, no tenemos derecho a jugar. El versículo de hoy nos recuerda que tenemos que llevar nuestra cruz si de verdad queremos ser discípulos de Jesús. ¿Por qué tenemos que cargar una cruz, acaso no somos libres? Sí somos libres pero la cruz nos sirve de recordatorio de lo bueno que Dios ha sido con nosotros.  ¿A que me refiero? Es sencillo, la cruz nos recuerda de todas nuestras experiencias; con estp en mente nos podemos preguntar, ¿sentimos el dolor de pasar por situaciones solos o podemos recordar las victorias que Dios nos ha ayudado a ganar? Si se lo permitimos, nuestra cruz puede llegar a ser el más grande atributo de nuestro caminar como cristianos. ¿Sera que nos estamos escondiendo en la tristeza porque no sabemos valorar la felicidad? Si quieres seguir a Jesús, ¡saquemos nuestras cruces y sigámoslo!
