God bless!

Have you ever felt like a fellow Christian took advantage of you? I'm sure we all have. The verse below talks about employees & employers but the truth is it applies to all of our relationships not just those in the work place. Why do I bring this up today? The fact is we need to start recognizing God in each other, we need to value His presence in those around us, how can we respect the world and not our God fearing brethren? I know many of us think: I'll give respect when I'm respected but if we all approach things that way things will never change. Are you up to the challenge of respecting first? I dare you!

Pastor Joell

Let those who have believing masters not be disrespectful or scornful [to them] on the grounds that they are brothers [in Christ]; rather, they should serve [them all the better] because those who benefit by their kindly service are believers and beloved. Teach and urge these duties. (1 Timothy 6:2 AMP)

God bless!

Our God is faithful! He will not forget His promise to you. He is your foundation and promises to uphold you. Who can change that? Who can make Him change His course? Who can overpower Him? No one! Hold on tight as God will help you achieve the desires of your heart!

Pastor Joell

Yet the Lord is faithful, and He will strengthen [you] and set you on a firm foundation and guard you from the evil [one]. (2 Thessalonians 3:3 AMP)

To be great leaders we must lead with greatness. Greatness is not something we acquire, God has already placed it inside of us. We simply have to mine the greatness that is already there. Many times we complain of the "difficult situation" we are going through. However, the difficult situations we find ourselves in are the moments & opportunities for us to mine, dig deep and see forth His greatness in us. It is in these difficulties that we see what we are made of. If only we could understand that we are made by Him. That He makes no mistakes, He leaves nothing out, that He creates us On Purpose and In Purpose. We'd understand that the moments of greatest difficulties are the ones that will lead us to our greatest Victories!

Be the great leader He created you to be!

Titus 1:7-8 (AMP)
7 For the bishop (an overseer) as God’s steward must be blameless, not self-willed or arrogant or presumptuous; he must not be quick-tempered or given to drink or pugnacious (brawling, violent); he must not be grasping and greedy for filthy lucre (financial gain);
8 But he must be hospitable (loving and a friend to believers, especially to strangers and foreigners); [he must be] a lover of goodness [of good people and good things], sober-minded (sensible, discreet), upright and fair-minded, a devout man and religiously correct, temperate and keeping himself in hand.

We all look forward to our birthdays, well most of us at least. We like the attention, we enjoy time with our loved ones and we especially love the gifts. Who doesn't look forward to a gift? I surely don't know anyone that doesn't, whether it's our love language or not. There is effort put forth into the celebration no matter how big or small.

How much do we celebrate our walk with our Lord & Savior? Every day is a birthday. Every day should be a day we celebrate because we are born again... we are renewed, we are restored and we've been given an opportunity to live for Him and in Him. We should keep joy in our hearts as we walk through life because another day of life is another gift that He has given us. We should celebrate and rejoice because we have a God that desires to see us blessed everyday more and more!

With that said... Happy Birthday! Enjoy this day that He has given you and He has created for you. Everything your eyes can see is His creation for you. Consider it a gift from above. Enjoy it!

Psalm 118:24 English Standard Version (ESV)
24 This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.

God Bless

Throughout life we go through many waiting periods. Whether we're waiting for the bus to get to school/work, waiting for the car to warm up, waiting at the doctor’s office or waiting at a store to make a return as I am currently doing as I'm writing this devotional. I mean if I have to wait for a period of time I might as well do something productive. Bottom line we'll  have many occasions where we have no choice but to wait.

Waiting is something few people are good at. Especially in the society we live in where everything is wanted fast if not instantly. We have all walks of life from all parts of the world and waiting is difficult. It tests our patience, it magnifies all things to a much higher degree. At times it can make our mood, our day, our lives extremely frustrating. But what it boils down to is perspective. If we had the perspective and understanding that our wait was going to be for 2 hours but then it turned out to be 15 minutes, well we'd be jumping for joy.

Today I challenge myself and you to take a different perspective. Have a perspective of patience and understanding that the wait is only momentary. That if we "get frustrated" and allow the frustration to ruin our day we miss out on what God has for you at that very moment. Understand that patience is something that will develop you into a much better you. God wants the best of you to come forth. Be calm. Be flexible. Be understanding. And be patient. God will show you what you're really made of. Be blessed.

Romans 5:2-4 (AMP)

2 Through Him also we have [our] access (entrance, introduction) by faith into this grace (state of God’s favor) in which we [firmly and safely] stand. And let us rejoice and exult in our hope of experiencing and enjoying the glory of God.

3 Moreover [let us also be full of joy now!] let us exult and triumph in our troubles and rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that pressure and affliction and hardship produce patient and unswerving endurance.

4 And endurance (fortitude) develops maturity of [a]character (approved faith and [b]tried integrity). And character [of this sort] produces [the habit of] [c]joyful and confident hope of eternal salvation.

Most people would agree in saying that we live in a place of opportunity. This country like many others had some real pioneers, people that this country was built off of. Pioneers that really showed what it was to be the first to pave a way for a prosperous future. It took a different mentality. It took thinking outside the box. And it took a lot of effort.... "blood, sweat and tears" like many would say. So much so that till this day many look up to this country's pioneers. They're revered to the point they're all over our history books and taught in our schools till this very day.

Today I want to point out another Pioneer. A pioneer who came to existence with a specific purpose, amongst many, to show this world how to do things extremely different. He was so different in His ways that many called Him radical, others called him a stranger and some called him evil.

As human beings, we tend to discard and "write off" the things we don't understand as it were useless to us. We miss out on what may be great for us because it's anything other than what "we're used to".

You want to talk about blood, sweat and tears; this Man really knew the meaning of the words. To Him these words were a reality as He lived them out. And if you haven't guessed it by now... the person I'm referring to is none other than Jesus. Today, take a moment and recognize what Jesus has done for you. If He did nothing else in your life He's done more than enough. Revere the true Pioneer and let Him be your true role model. Follow Him and He and only He will show you the truth, the way and the light.

"fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God." - Hebrews 12:2

God Bless You,

We all have heard this saying at some point in our life, “actions speak louder than words”. This is true in any relationship; our relationships with other humans as well as our relationship with God. We could say “I love you” until we are blue in the face but if our actions do not coincide with our words, they are meaningless. We could make a thousand promises to God or people but if our actions do not follow what we have promised, we are simply wasting our time and hurting others. Can people trust our words? Do we follow through with what we promise? Many times we even promise things to ourselves and unfortunately those promises are just empty words that sound pretty but we don’t follow through with actions. Today let’s remember that love is an action, true love is not just sweet words, it’s an action… “We must show our love by the things we do”.

Pastor Laura Palacios

1 John 3:18 (ERV)

My children, our love should not be only words and talk. No, our love must be real. We must show our love by the things we do.”

Growing up my mother would always tell me to "simply listen to her advice". In the best of her ability she would try to help me through whatever "mess ups" I was involved in at the time. Unfortunately, I thought I knew better. Here I am at a young age thinking I know best. "She has no idea what I'm going through" is what I often told myself. What a Fool that I was. I was so caught up in myself that I didn't make room for counsel.

As believers we still do the same even in our mature age. We try to fix issues and situations in our ability. We think we can outsmart our difficulties and our obstacles. Yet we have wisdom, discernment and counsel of the Super Natural kind at our disposal. Why do we wait to come to God for help? Why do we insist on being stubborn and try to do things our way? Why is it that we wait till everything falls to pieces to get on our knees and seek Him? Our counselor is there for us every day, 24/7. It is best to seek His advice daily. His word is there to help us avoid problems and difficult situations.

Seek Him today and continue to do so daily. You'll avoid being the Fool tomorrow.

Proverbs 1:5 AMP

The wise also will hear and increase in learning, and the person of understanding will acquire skill and attain to sound counsel [so that he may be able to steer his course rightly].

God bless!

Many of us get confused in our walk with God at times as we think that who we were can influence who we will be. We think that our schooling or experience can make our gift better than the next person but what many of us don't realize is that our gift isn't for us but rather for others and it's not ours but rather from God. He didn't pick us because we are "good" or "smart" but rather because He was going to show off by changing us! I will leave you with this today: prepare yourself because people will marvel at you and the changes in your life. They will wonder: how did it happen? The simple answer is....we have been with Jesus!

Pastor Joell

Now when they saw the boldness and unfettered eloquence of Peter and John and perceived that they were unlearned and untrained in the schools [common men with no educational advantages], they marveled; and they recognized that they had been with Jesus. (Acts 4:13 AMP)

God bless!

Obedience doesn't always make sense. It doesn't always seem to be the "right" thing to do. It surely is not the popular thing to do and not many people will get excited while in the process of doing it. Why is this relevant? Without obedience in our lives we will never be able to experience the super natural. Let me explain: disobedience or doing what we (our flesh) wants rather than what we are told to do will render the results that are "humanly" possible. Humans can accomplish physical things, with enough effort or persistence any of us can fulfill many of our desires, but God is the means to accomplish the impossible. The verse today relates specifically to the impossible. Joshua in this portion of scripture had just come out of a defeat at war and a major overhaul amongst his people. Nonetheless God gave him a command and he obeyed. This obedience proved to be the difference between victory and defeat. What obedience you may ask? Visualizing his enemy, lifting up his weapon toward them and finally waiting on the Lord all while dealing with many emotions. That day he received victory and was allowed to enjoy the spoil of the enemy not because of his fighting ability but because of his believing and acting ability.

Stretching out my javelin!

Pastor Joell

Then the Lord said to Joshua, Stretch out the javelin that is in your hand toward Ai, for I will give it into your hand. So Joshua stretched out the javelin in his hand toward the city. (Joshua 8:18 AMP)
