God Bless You,
What exactly is “attitude”? We may hear people say “this person has a horrible attitude” or on the opposite spectrum someone may say, “I love this person’s attitude”. What exactly are they referring to? First let’s look at definition, the dictionary defines “attitude” as “a settled way of thinking or feeling about someone or something, typically one that is reflected in a person's behavior.” Our attitude not only affects our own emotions, decisions, and actions but it could seriously affect all of those around us as well. As the definition implies, our attitude is definitely reflected in our behavior and our behavior is a clear reflection of what we are made of. What kind of attitude are we showing? Are we reflecting God’s character in our attitude or are we “settled for our own way of thinking and judging”? Selah… What kind of attitude should we have? It’s very simple, today’s verse tells us exactly what we are supposed to do, “Don’t look out only for your own interests, but take an interest in others, too. You must have the same attitude that Christ Jesus had.” Philippians 2:4-5 (NLT)Jesus was humble, obedient, compassionate, forgiving, loving, committed, patient, generous, wise, diligent, and merciful to say the least…these are the kind of traits we should all reflect in our attitude.
