Let me paint a picture for you: its Saturday morning about 7am, you wake up look over at the clock and get excited because it’s still early. You begin to look at the PDA and realize you have nothing set up to do today. A clear and free day! (yeah right!). You roll over and say “I’m going back to sleep”. To make things better you look out the window and it’s raining and dark, you smile and say “ it’s one of those restful days”. Doesn’t it feel good even just reading it? I can’t speak for you but there is no better feeling in the world than when you have accomplished all of your tasks and have the ability to just relax.
Unfortunately in the world we live in today rest is something that is seldom experience. Why am I talking about this today? The truth is though our circumstances may not be optimal all the time to rest, God wants us to find rest even when the conditions are not optimal. What do I mean? Well I will break it down like this: God has given us everything we have, He did it with the purpose that all that we have leads to greater things and that we maximize on every love investment He has made into our lives. Even the things that don’t appear to be optimal are there with a purpose but our job is to figure out what the purpose of each thing is. How do we do that? We have to acknowledge the worth of each person, place and thing. The verse today speaks about the land that God gave His people for the purpose of providing rest to them. So why don’t we find rest in the things we have? We simply haven’t discovered their value. It’s time for us to review each thing in our life and attribute to it the value God has given it. Where we are should be a place of peace even when we are in the eye of the storm.

¡Que Dios Te Bendiga!
Permítanme contarles algo para que me entiendan mejor: Es sábado y son las 7 de la mañana, miras el reloj y te alegras al darte cuenta que aun es temprano, comienzas a revisar tu lista de quehaceres y te das cuenta que no tienes nada programado para ese día… ¡será un día relajado y sin problemas! (¡eso es lo que crees!). Te das una vuelta en cama y decides dormir un rato más, para añadir a este día sin quehaceres, te das cuenta al mirar por la ventana que esta lloviendo y aun sigue obscuro, sonríes y piensas “hoy definitivamente es un día para relajarme”. ¿No sientes algo de despreocupación y tranquilidad al solo leer esto? No puedo hablar por ustedes pero de mi parte les puedo decir que, no hay mejor momento que cuando me doy cuenta que no tengo nada que hacer y verdaderamente me puedo relajar.
Desafortunadamente en los tiempos que vivimos hoy en día, es muy raro encontrar el momento en que verdaderamente nos podamos relajar. ¿Por qué les hablo de esto hoy? La verdad es que aunque nuestras circunstancias actuales no sean las optimas para estar relajados, Dios quiere que encontremos esa paz y tranquilidad aún en las circunstancias difíciles. ¿A qué me refiero? Bueno, déjenme explicarles de esta manera: Dios nos ha dado todo lo que tenemos, el nos dio lo que tenemos con un propósito, para alcanzar cosas mucho más grandes y para que diéramos fruto de cada inversión de amor que El ha hecho por nosotros y en nosotros. Aún esas cosas que no nos agradan y no entendemos están aquí para ser parte del propósito de Dios, nuestro trabajo es entender cual es el propósito que Dios tiene con cada situación. ¿Cómo hacemos esto? Tenemos que aprender a darle el verdadero valor a cada persona a nuestro alrededor, cada cosa y cada lugar. El versículo de hoy nos habla de la tierra que Dios le había dado a su pueblo para que descansaran en ella. ¿Entonces porque es que no podemos encontrar paz y tranquilidad en las cosas que tenemos? La respuesta es porque aún no hemos podido entender el valor de cada cosa. Ha llegado el momento de que evaluemos cada persona y cosa en nuestra vida y le demos el verdadero valor que merece de acuerdo al valor que Dios le da. El lugar donde estamos hoy debe ser un lugar de paz aún si estamos en medio de una tormenta.
