For those not familiar with the verse of today I will try to give you a quick
recap:
David was anointed by God to replace Saul as king. Though he
was anointed that didn't cast Saul out of his throne immediately. Saul was
aware that David was chosen by God clearly not only because of the physical
anointing but because of the proof behind his victories and actions. Though
Saul may have been aware, don't you think he would have enjoyed to pass his
kingdom to his heir? So here is his heir in the verse below not only blessing
his father's replacement but actually blessing the man that was chosen to
replace him and his linage from the throne. Would you have helped David? I'm
sure it would have been quite difficult for many of us to embrace our
replacement and go as far as giving him/her our resources but if we are not
faithful with the tools God has given us what can we expect? Have you ever
noticed how people will work the hardest when they are told they may be in
jeopardy to lose their job? Why? If we really appreciated what we have we would
treat it the same throughout the time. I'm talking to myself here! Truth is
Jonathans testimony is one that we all should look to with admiration, to love
your replacement enough to equip him/her with your tools is breath taking. He
did it, he didn't complain about it, he didn't bark at his father for exposing
him to this loss, he simply did the right thing. Today the moral is twofold:
first we must learn to appreciate the privileges and things we have before we
lose them and second we must love and trust God enough to know if He has
replaced us in an area of our life its simply because we needed to learn how to
appreciate the bigger blessing that is coming.

Dios Te Bendiga!
Para todos los que tal vez no estén
familiarizados con el versículo de hoy, les daré un resumen: David
fue ungido por Dios para remplazar al rey Saúl. Aunque David fue ungido para
ser rey, esto no significó que el rey Saúl perdería su trono inmediatamente.
Saúl estaba muy consiente de que David había sido escogido por Dios para ser
rey no solo porque había sido ungido, sino también por las victorias que ya
había logrado obtener. Aunque Saúl ya sabía quien lo iba a remplazar, ¿no crees
que le hubiese sido más placentero pasar el reinado a su hijo? En el versículo
de abajo podemos leer como el hijo de Saúl (Jonatán) bendigo al que iba a
remplazar a su padre como rey y a la vez tomar el lugar que por lo general le
pertenecía a el de acuerdo al linaje. Si estuvieras en la posición de Jonatán,
¿le hubieses ayudado a David? Estoy seguro que hubiese sido bien difícil para
muchos de nosotros el ayudar a alguien que prácticamente estaría tomando el
lugar que nos pertenece, ¿pero de que nos vale pelear en contra de las
herramientas que Dios nos ha dado? ¿Qué podemos esperar si nos vamos en contra
de lo que Dios ha planeado? ¿Te has dado cuenta que cuando el trabajo de
alguien esta en peligro es cuando más se esfuerzan en su trabajo? ¿Por qué será
que esto sucede? Si en verdad apreciáramos lo que tenemos, lo cuidaríamos
siempre por el valor que tiene con el mejor de los cuidados. ¡Creo que me estoy
hablando a mí mismo en este momento! La verdad es que el testimonio de Jonatán
es digno de admirar; el amar y ayudar a la persona que te va a remplazar
dándole lo mejor de ti es digno de admiración. Jonatán lo hizo, sin quejas, sin
reclamos a su padre, simplemente hizo lo que era correcto hacer con lo que Dios
ya había escogido. La moraleja de hoy es doble: primeramente debemos aprender a
apreciar y valorar todos los recursos que Dios nos permite tener antes de que
los perdamos y segundo, debemos confiar en Dios lo suficiente como para aceptar
que si El nos remplazo en algún aspecto de nuestra vida, es para que aprendamos
a apreciar la bendición más grande que viene en camino.
