Have you ever felt like you have done so much good but don’t feel like it has been returned to you? Of course most of us will say that we don’t care what someone does for us when we do good for them but in the depth of our heart I think we all want some good from any good we perform. It's human nature and no matter how much we fight it the truth is we want benefits. There is nothing wrong with desiring a good thing but we have to come to the understanding that not all good things will produce fruit right away. Some fruit can take as long as 10 years to bring forth fruit in the natural and in the spiritual it is similar. Does it make the fruit bad? Not at all, in fact don’t we value more those things that take time to develop? Have we lost touch with some of the seeds we’ve planted because they were apparently delayed in producing? Will we sell our land simply because the fruit hasn’t shown up? Most people with any sense of value would hold on to the land and allow it time to develop. What will you do? I encourage you to read the verse below with a different perspective, today make do with the opportunity you are given and do good for someone else. Reach out and help a person in need, simply because it's a nice thing to do. Plant your seed and be patient while your fruit is in process of growing, it will not delay!
Preparing my basket and praising Him despite what my eyes may see!

Have you ever felt like you had enough? You cried way too many tears? You were exhausted by your frustrations? Well do I have good news for you today! The verse today reminds us that though we may be going through a rough patch in life there is great times coming to us! Not good times but rather great times! Get ready to sing and be happy because He has promised it to you!

We all look forward to times of peace, prosperity, fulfillment and joy. We all want to wake up and be able to feel like we can do what we want to, rather than what we have to. Well I come today to tell you we can have that all today! How? Allow God to work on our perception. Our perception of things will lead us to either appreciate or abhor our situations. We choose what we will accept. When we choose, our heart investment will convert the negative to positive or vice versa. So what do we choose today? Will you hate your job or recognize it helps pay the bills? Will you hate your relationship or appreciate the sacrifice made by your spouse to love you? Perception will either be your best friend or worst enemy. Which do you choose today?

Do you remember growing up how your parents would say "listen to what I'm saying" or "pay attention and watch what I am doing". Their intent was to lead by example so they gave us physical examples. Why is this important? Our senses are a huge blessing or hindrance in our walk. Our parents knew if we saw we would believe and duplicate the positive outcome they demonstrated. The same principals apply with God. He establishes testimonies in our life and those around us so we could believe and duplicate. When we allow our senses to intake these positive outcomes as testimonies (realizing it's not us but Him who did the work) then all of a sudden we enter into a state of blessing. We are not truly blessed until we realize we are indeed blessed. Time to see what He is doing and hear about what He has done. Bless us Lord!

We have all received promises from God but not all of us have been able to see them all come to pass. We are all waiting for something but the verse below brings comfort to all of us, the days are coming! Many of us have been going through a dry season but I have great news for us today, The light at the end of the tunnel is here! His promise to us is at the brink of being fulfilled, do you believe it? It’s time to get our head into the game and know that He hasn't forgotten about us and never will!

We regularly hear parents and teachers use the phrase: “put on your listening ears”; we all need to use these from time to time as well as be “good listeners” when others need us. We all need to be heard at times (some more than others lol) and we all need that special someone who cares for us enough to carefully and sensibly listen to us (usually our BFF). I don’t know about you but I find myself specially needing this when times are rough. Sometimes it just feels so much better after we “vent”; let’s admit it…don’t deny it, it may not resolve the issue at hand but it brings an instant relieve (let’s be conscious of what we are saying and who we are saying it to). We feel as if a heavy load was lifted off our shoulders when someone offers their “listening ears” to us. Today I remind myself and everyone reading this message that no one has better “listening ears” than our Heavenly Father. He ALWAYS has the best intentions for us and is always there when we call out to him...He is our BFF: Best Friend Forever. He reminds us over and over again in his Word that he will comfort us and help us in our time of need. He wants to hear us; our voice is sweet to his ears even if we are crying our lungs out. If we are feeling alone, empty, broken-hearted, or defeated he is waiting to hear from us with his listening ears.“Vent” to your God, the only one that could truly help us! He is always ready and able to put all of our pieces back together but we have to be willing to surrender all those broken pieces to him. Cry out to him and tell him what is hurting you, tell him how you feel, tell him how much you need him today. He will never ignore you or abandon you! He is waiting to hear your voice…

If you missed yesterday’s preaching I encourage you to check it out! It is the beginning of something life changing that God wants to do in our life. To understand the power and authority in us is something that will take us from being a Christian to being a powerful Christian. What’s the difference you may ask? VICTORY. I’m not sure about you but I Need to be victorious! Victory is that motivation that drives to believe bigger, trust more and simply live better. Want to live in peace? Recognize your power! Want to be financially free? Recognize where your power comes from! Want to be healed? Recognize the healing power in you! Everything we need to be victorious is already in us, the reason we apparently lack is because we don’t recognize what is inside of us. Look in the mirror and remind yourself that “You Have the Power! After you do this deny any voice that says different, even if it’s your own….
Today is your day!

It’s better to be safe than sorry! Have you ever heard this saying? In life too many of us put all of our eggs in one basket, we don’t diversify because we find comfort in certain things. What happens when those certain things fall apart? For some of us this is a disaster. We’ve seen this in society take place so many times in the economical side but it frequently happens in the emotional side as well. What am I getting at today? We must begin to invest our hearts and souls correctly. We can’t rely on just a comfortable state of mind in relationships we must have other options. Now please don’t misunderstand what I’m saying here, I’m not saying have more friends just in case one becomes flakey but what I am saying is diversify your friendships. Seek different points of common interest, seek different mutual desires and build on each equally. Why? It’s the difference between knowing of someone and actually knowing someone. Many people I’m sure call you friend but how many people do you actually consider a friend? How many people on your social media profiles friends list are truly your friends? The bottom line is if we want to build strong relationships we have to work on them constantly. Yes I’m talking to married people but I am also talking to single people. We will never experience a true friendship unless the relationship is sought out and edified by both parties. If one person calls the other all the time in a relationship, does the other person really want to talk to them? Relationships are two way streets and if not treated that way they tend to fall apart and the true colors will show in difficult times. This completely applies to our relationship with God, we can’t just withdraw from God and never deposit into Him(I’m not talking about money, that is between you and Him). The same way we seek Him when we are in need is the same way we must worship Him when all is good. I encourage you today (as I do myself) to invest our hearts into different ventures or aspects of relationships, if not we will never truly know what being a friend is all about. Lastly remember this: friends are there when disasters occur not just when you are experiencing prosperity. Want to know who your true friends are? Review your life and remember your worst of times, who was there to hold your head up?

Ecclesiastes 11:2 “ Invest in seven ventures, yes, in eight; you do not know what disaster may come upon the land.”

Many times in our hustle & bustle of everyday life I feel we lose touch with some very important details, such as how did we get here and where are we going? We get caught up on so many irrelevant items in life that we are completely absorbed by busyness rather than quality of life. Am I right? So how do we correct this flaw? I think the first step in rectifying the issue is recognizing our origins. Where did we start? The bible verse below tells us that we were knitted in our mother’s womb, He actually formed each of us individually before birth. Isn’t that awesome? To think He took so much time and energy to design us at that stage, why do so many of us think He has forgotten about us now? It becomes difficult to deal with things in life if we isolate ourselves from Him, so why do it? If He was there with us before we were born and He has designed our entire life in perfection for us (as long as we walk in His will for us) then why doubt He is there today? I get it, we have waited a long time for certain things and we don’t see the direction WE desire but does that mean we are in the wrong path? NO. He is our guide and though the path may not look 100% right it is irrelevant to the end result. It’s time to trust Him as He was there for us even before we knew what trust was. Time for us to believe based on what we don’t see rather than only on what we do see.

No one in life can have power over you unless you allow them to. I think my last sentence is very clear and very true. We spend too much time allowing certain people to have a say and a control over certain areas of our life that they don't merit. How do we stop it? Just say NO! We all have been given the gift of free will and we all have the right to use it, so why don't we? It’s all in our perception, for one reason or another these people have led us to believe we need something from them. Let me be clear today: All we need in life is God and there is no reason why we should allow anyone to mistreat or abuse us. Please don’t manipulate what I’m saying to become anti-social, I’m simply stating that we need to begin to value ourselves and stop allowing outside influences determine our happiness. As you proceed in your walk today look around and ask yourself "Am I letting this person influence me too much?" "Is this person affecting my future because I have lost my voice?" I think we would be surprised how many people we allow to get a rise out of us without reason. We need to value ourselves the way God has always valued us!

Have you ever felt at your wits end and didn’t know what else you could possibly do to stop the feeling? Have you ever felt so anxious about things that you couldn’t sleep or find rest whatsoever? I think we will all answer yes to these questions but the point of today’s devotional today is to get us to a solution not just emphasize a problem. So what’s the solution? The verse below states the solution clearly: Consolation from the Lord. Only God can alleviate anxiety and only God can produce real joy in us. How do we attain this from Him? We have to seek a relationship with Him. It’s time to defeat anxiety through communication, time to defeat stress through surrounding ourselves with Him. He is the Way, the Truth and the Life! So if you find yourself struggling today there is only one solution and that is JESUS.

Has anyone ever done something to offend you but after talking to that person you realized it was a mistake and the offense wasn't done on purpose? When something is done in this fashion it tends to be easier to forgive and forget since we realize the intent was not malicious or deliberate. Now let's look at the flip side to that, what about when it is done on purpose and maliciously? Is it easy to get over? Of course not! I would venture on saying this type of offense is the type that makes irreparable damage to relationships. With all of that said the verse today talks about how we acquire knowledge of the Truth and our actions after we do acquire this knowledge. Though many are sold on the concept of an "everlasting pass" to Grace the word is clear when it states that many will come before His presence and He will say "I never knew you". Do we really want to test the extent of Grace knowing we are doing wrong in certain areas of our life? Why speed up at a yellow light in life if we can wait and redirect to a clearer, safer path? I'm not sure about you but eternity is not something that I want to gamble with. Today let’s review our actions and let's set our course straight, will Grace run out? No. The important thing is that we don't run out on Grace.
Pastor Joell A. Perez
For if we go on deliberately and willingly sinning after once acquiring the knowledge of the Truth, there is no longer any sacrifice left to atone for [our] sins [no further offering to which to look forward]. (Hebrews 10:26 AMP)

A little girl says to her mommy “I want chocolate cake”. The mom says “well honey, I have to see what we have in the pantry, she could have gone the easy route and went out to buy one, but she wanted to spend quality time with her daughter and teach her the value of making it herself, so she brought out the sugar. The little girl excitedly said yeah chocolate cake! But the mom said no honey it’s just the sugar, we will get the other ingredients tomorrow. The next day at the market the mom grabbed a box of eggs and flower, but they were out of chocolate for baking and the chocolate fudge, so the little girl said excitedly “yeah chocolate cake”, but the mom said no honey it’s only the eggs and flower we still need the chocolate to make the cake. The next day the mom drives a little further to a bigger market and buys the chocolate and the little girl says “yeah chocolate cake”, but the mother patiently said “no honey these are just the ingredients, but now we have all we need, let’s go home and make our chocolate cake!”
Together mother and daughter applied every last ingredient and mixed them all together, so the little girl said “yeah chocolate cake”. The mother patiently said “honey we are almost there, just one more step to get your chocolate cake, be patient!” And the mother gracefully placed the mix in a baking pan and turned up the oven and together they waited. The mother at this point was even more excited to take out the cake from the oven and give it to her daughter who so anxiously waited to receive it. And as in previous days the little girl shouted excitedly “Yeah chocolate cake!” and the mother said “yes honey come and eat”.
You are not made up of one ingredient, but of many (fruits of the spirit –Ephesians 4:1-6)and it may take several days or years to find the richness of God in you, but know that the day you became His child those ingredients became rightfully yours as His heir and Co-heir with Jesus Christ. Those isolated ingredients are not the entire you (your past days, months, years, sins are not the only you) but meshed together in Christ and with his secret ingredients- the fruits of the spirit, you will then be put into His oven (Refiners Fire) of love, He will finish the work in you and it will be glorious and then your eyes will see and reap of your reward here in the land of the living, you will be made whole, His Finished and crafted workmanship (THE FINISHED CHOCOLATE CAKE! )

Have you ever thought you earn your way into heaven by the things that you do? The truth is that there is no deed we can do to earn our way into heaven. We may enter in by all that Jesus did for us, in other words, nothing we've done at all. Am I saying we should live haphazardly because of this? No, we can still be dismissed if we don’t live correct but our living doesn’t form the key to enter heaven, all it does is show us the way. Why do I mention this today? Though it’s great to have a great esteem of our self, it’s also important to know we are not here because of our culture, name, back ground, etc. We are here because of Him! He chose us to prove a point and that point was to show that all that man discarded, He could form into greatness. Today is the day to realize His greatness and understand we are all in Him and nothing outside of Him. Don’t leave the shadow of His wings!

What are the functions of our muscular system? Yes I know this is not science class and neither am I a science teacher but just bear with me so I could show you how my question is relevant to our faith. Without going in-depth I could tell you that our muscular system has 4 main functions: 1. It allows us to move, (from a simple finger bending to running a marathon). 2. It helps us with posture, it allows us to stand (our skeleton will not stand on its own if muscles were not attached to it). 3. It gives us stability(our muscles not only give us strength but help us keep our entire system together and running properly). 4. Our muscles produce heat and help in proper blood flow through our entire system. Now let’s compare this to our Faith: 1. Our faith is what allows us to keep moving and pushing forward even when things seem impossible (from the smallest of issues to those that seem to have no solution – it’s our faith in God that allows us to keep going and believing for the best. 2. Our faith and trust in God help us withstand any type of situation, it allows us to not only help ourselves but help others keep it together during the hard times. 3. Our faith in God keep us stableand firm no matter what the circumstances; our faith keeps us focused knowing that God will keep his word and promises. 4. Our faith in God allows the Holy Spirit to work in us; purifying and restoring us with its all-powerful fire. How is our faith today? Are you using your spiritual muscle correctly? Do you think it’s a coincidence that our heart is an organ formed of muscles? No coincidences in God; He made everything perfect and with a purpose. Examine your heart today and check to see if your faith muscle is doing what it’s supposed to. Grow your muscles and use them correctly...they will make you very strong!

One of my main goals in life is to retain punctuality. There is nothing worse (in my eyes) than always being late. It shows irresponsibility, lack of concern and disrespect of others time. In a nut shell it’s a sign of selfishness. Now why am I going on about this today? Though in the physical this may be true, in the spiritual our opportunities to make things right are more flexible. Don't misunderstand flexibility with acceptance. It's not ok to be late or irresponsible but Gods love surpasses all of these issues. The moral of this devotional today is to remind us that it doesn't matter how far or how late we are with our acceptance of our call, all that matters is that we accept it today. Today is the perfect day to start fresh! Are you in?

The dictionary tells us that a masterpiece is someone's: "greatest work", "something done with masterly skill", "something completed with extraordinary skill for a great purpose". Today I want to remind you that YOU and I are God's masterpieces...yes, yes YOU ARE A MASTERPIECE!! Don't let the lies of the enemy penetrate your mind or your heart...you were never an accident, you are not an imitation: you are unique and original. You are not here because two people had intimacy and there you were, no, no, no...You are here because God had you in His mind and heart and He sculpted you with his own powerful hands, in His image to be His precious child, the apple of His eye!! You were created on purpose and with much love by Almighty God, Creator of the universe. Masterpieces are not meant to shine and bring honor and glory to themselves but instead to bring respect, honor, and praise to their creator (artist)...let your uniqueness, beauty, and value shine today for the Glory of your Creator. Let's remember that masterpieces are protected and secured and this is exactly what God does for us through his Holy Spirit. Masterpieces also need to be restored from time to time and many of us find ourselves in this process yet our value never declines in God’s eyes; restorations are done to remove unwanted stains (to clean them), to prevent further damage, and to add value to the piece of art. God does all of this and more in our lives; He is in constant work in us and through us. I once read an analogy that totally makes sense to me now: it takes 13 hours to build a Toyota but it takes over 6 months to build a Rolls-Royce (consider a masterpiece in the car world). Which kind of car would you like to be?

Have you ever heard someone talk about how happy they plan on being when they pass away? How they can’t wait to leave this earth so they can finally be at peace? Why do we have such an awful point of view on life? God didn’t allow us to come to this earth to suffer, we suffer because we make the wrong decisions. We have every right and capability of changing the circumstances in our life that are not optimal. Why don’t we do it? We don’t do it because it entails work and discomfort at the beginning of the process. We have to work to be happy, happiness doesn’t fall from the sky it is earned by hard work and sweating to obtain it. I know most of us don’t want to hear this but we can’t expect to be happy if we are not willing to make changes in our current situation. Today let's be encouraged to make a radical change in our life for good. Why? If we don’t seek true joy as the verse says below we will lose heart! It’s time to see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living!
